But Saturday while walking her dog across the street from the Durham Police Department, Mary found a military identification card with the name Frances Lauterbach, also known as Maria Frances Lauterbach. The card was in the grass just outside Durham's Greyhound bus station. "It was sort of obvious," Yordy said. I have thought ever since they said that he had Maria's car at his when his wife's car wasn't around that that doesn't neccessarily mean that the wife was gone.

I wonder if they could have parked wife's car somewhere else to make it look like she was gone....so her "innocense" was more believeble.
Then it just looks like an affair, which most people are not as inclined to stick their nose in.

How hard would that be to do? Geesh...when I was a teenager, we did the whole car staging thing all of the time so that if our parents happened to check up on us, we looked like we were being good....but really we were in the incognito mobile being up to no good....just thinking.

I never thought of that ember! But my goodness, playing musical chairs with all those cars, his truck, Maria's car, Christina's car. I wonder where the wife's car could have been then? I know her parents have been interviewed, but I didn't notice where they live. Are they close? Maybe she could have left her car there? But she was at work, at least at some time. Maybe took hubby's truck? You are right, we need to know where she was! So many questions!

Investigators over the weekend found the ATM debit card of slain Marine Lance Cpl. Maria Lauterbach in a Durham, N.C., bus station, and the truck of the man suspected of killing her was reportedly seen in that area, the Onslow County sheriff said Monday.

Durham is approx 185 miles from Jacksonville
The bus station where the ATM card was found is less than 3 blocks from the Durham Police headquarters

From my understanding (and I can't quote, because it comes from a friend of mine in Durham) She called in a tip to Durham Police about the Truck being seen in the area. She noticed the Camp Lejeune decal on the truck near the Durham Freeway (Hwy 147) and Chapel Hill St. intersection, on Chapel Hill St. Again, less than 3 blocks from the bus station. She saw this on Saturday, Jan 12th.

I believe that the lil wifey is up to her eyeballs in this as well. If she isn't, I will be flabbergasted!!
I would never come home, and find my DH painting. I would know something was wrong right away.

Oh, yeah, he's cleaning and painting (the ceiling!)and burning something mysterious in the yard, and "coincidentally" the woman he raped and impregnated is missing -- and he'd been driving her car around. Seems to me that, if she didn't already know something had happened, she would have run for her life. I think -- at the least -- she knew about it.

I can imagine how much info they could add about the paint job and paint cans stacked outside. I am not buyiNg the wife's innocence in all this. She had to know something ! Especially after painting so much. And since when do folks have a barbeque in the backyard during Dec. Jan ? Now I am wondering how none of the bbq's guests caught a wiff of something foul-smelling in that firepit ? ( Sorry to be graphic ) There are so many pieces of this puzzle that seem to be missing, it is so frustrating. :behindbar

Police do say that her ATM card was used by an unidentified man on Christmas Eve, and that her car was recovered on the night of January 8, 2008 at a Jacksonville, N.C. Bus Station.

The car bothers me.
The car was next to the bus station parking lot not the buss station, right?
Who said it was there for 2 weeks?
Was it there for 2 weeks a fact.
Around where I live, if a car is parked for a few days, it's towed....

Pic 9 is a better picture and yep it sure is two sections.I had been thinking it was only one section of fence.put one section in the bottoms soak it with gas then use the other section to cover her among other things and soak that with gas.

So I have read that Maria's car was parked at CL home for a few days..correct?
I saw a video of Christina's parents. On there they say that Christina was just not home on the day of the murder. They say she was at work when the murder occurred.
So, assuming this, then Christina was home when the car was parked there, for those days. I wondered what she says about this?
There are a lot of unanswered questions, that I really want answered!

How in the Hades do they know when Maria was killed? Even LE is working under assumptions of actual time of murder. So how do they know she was at work during the murder? This is way too revealing to me. Everything coming out now I'm reading from her father is CYA.

KC, and all, I believe that it is indeed part of her body. CNN was showing the clip of when they removed her body (from the same angle) and thats where the blurred circle was placed.
