Sounds like everything was hunky dorey at Cesars house until he got wind of maria being reported missing on the 19th, suddenly the car is back at the bustop, her phone turns up at the base entrance, etc, etc.

Now why did they keep Maria's car so long and out in the open at that? Why were they so arrogant that Maria's disappearance was never going to be noticed and never point back to them?

This is the only thing that makes sense concerning the wide open exposure and possession of the car. They weren't seriously concerned. I want their computers, and a personal interview with Miserous Christina.

OK All of us needs to take a step back here.If the wife had anything to do with this why did not all the family leave??Also I read somewhere here his wife was not home for a few days.
A strange car in the drive way!! Honey a buddy of mine is out of town and did not trust leaving it on the base.
Seen painting paints over the walls a few coats of the orginal paint color. And then ask Honey what color do you want this.
If she is involved why is she not arrested?

I hope when all is said and done people here are willing to eat Crow. If she is I will for sure.

i agree with you ....i'm definately on the fence about the wife...until i see that she's been arrested, i don't think she's involved....

Snippets from article .. this one states that Christina is "a former marine" - so, who knows - another contradiction from latest sheriff statement in news briefing. Sure is difficult getting accurate info about facts in this case.



Christina Laurean, a former Marine, has been devastated by the allegations against her husband and his subsequent disappearance, her mother said. Debbie Shifflet added that her daughter is concerned about the impact the episode will have on the Laurean's' 18-month-old daughter.


Bruce Shifflet said the family is finding it harder to believe Cesar Laurean's version of events as time goes on.

"I kind of almost wanted to believe that myself too because, having met with Cesar, his character doesn't (indicate) that at all. He's a very personable, likable guy who our family enjoyed being around," he said.

He urged his son-in-law to surrender for his family's sake.

"I thought he was a man of character, but it's obvious he's just a coward, taking off on his family and leaving this as a tragedy for both families," he said. "It's just a horrible, vulgar act."

Brown has challenged Cesar Laurean's assertion that Lauterbach killed herself, citing what he described as evidence of a violent confrontation inside the Laurean home - blood spatters on the ceiling and a massive amount of blood on the wall. Someone apparently tried to clean up the blood, even painting over some of it, he said.

Neighbor Wanda Alander said she noticed paint cans stacked on the porch of the Laurean home before Christmas.

"When I went over there, the living room was already painted. (Christina Laurean) mentioned that they were going to do some more stuff, like paint the bedrooms and the garage," Alander said.


Alander also said she saw the couple burning something behind the house around the same time, while her husband claimed he saw Cesar Laurean driving Lauterbach's car.

Christina Laurean, who delivered her husband's note to authorities on Friday, has cooperated with the investigation, Brown said

Who's not surprised the sheriff is calling Nancy Grace, "Miss Nancy"?

I know I'm in the minority, but I like the sheriff and I think he's done a fine job in the short amount of time he's been aware of this case (and even shorter time he's been aware of the rape charges.) The military messed this up before he even got into it.

In less than a week, since the sheriff was on the job, Lauterbach went from a missing person believed to have run away to a located murder victim whose murderer is identified.


Sheriff says, "We attempted to try to get some information in the very beginning from the base, and we didn't get it."

It worked for them in the past. Up until serious questions started being asked, the military had been on their side. Suddenly the situation was too big to keep swept under the rug.

On Dec 19th, a sheriff deputy did contact Maria's superiors so I would assume Cesar was tipped off.

BTW, people were wondering about a barbecue party in December. Not sure if you noticed, but there is no snow on the ground. There were a couple of days in December that were actually quite warm. And I live in a snow belt area!!!!! So I definately remember. How convenient for Cesar!!

Actually the Sheriffs dept saw a missing persons alert come through from Maria's hometown of Ohio, a sheriffs deputy checked local roads, etc and contacted her superiors at the base. On Dec 22, he went on vacation and the ball got dropped until Maria's mom and brother came into town throwing a fit. Sheriff Brown got the case a week ago today.

SHe might have been. But the BBQ and the seen burning are two different days.

Oh and IIRC, when Maria's mom and uncle asked about flying into town at when they reported her missing, The Sheriffs dept or the Marine's I can't remember which, told them not to, that it wasn't necessary.

Something I found odd in looking at the slide show pics.

It looks like there is a child's slide in the front yard of the house. Now if I had an 18 month old and I also had a fenced in back yard, guess where I would put the slide at and any other toys. YEP, in the fenced in back area where I know she/he couldn't wander away.

Did Cesar have to put it in the front because of the digging/burning in the back yard?? YOU BET HE DID!! And how did Christine feel about this? That would mean, she would have to be in the front yard at all times if daughter wanted to go on the slide. That is if she is a mother who cares where daughter is and doesn't get close to the road, etc. etc. etc.

Flowerchild, you are correct, dumb like a fox. I've all along believed if Christina didn't help in the killing, she ordered the hit. And I do mean ordered or your butt won't ever see the light of day.

The sheriff dept. in my opinion, if they don't arrest and try to convict christina also is because, they want this swept under the rug asap. The military and the police are or will be under some type of internal affars investigation into this case. No one argues this case is't messed up. Better to give her immunity, get him tried and convicted and get this over with like yesterday. The authorities unfortunately have motive to not arrest christina. To turn the other cheek.

Just because someone isn't arrested, just because someone is tried and found not guilty, doesn't make them innocent. They just got by with it. This case reeks of female involvement. Dang it, I'm female. I will trust my own instincts.

Is it just me or does anyone else catch the mis-speaks of christinas dad? The dad has already admitted he has met with Caesar. What? I thought the note was left, christina found it and alerted authorities, and road dog was already long gone. So exactly when, Mr. Dad did you have this conversation in order to try and believe the events he told you in that conversation when you two met? Before or after the public's awareness of the note, the discovery of the note by christina and the time that he was already gone?

I mean, Mr. Dad ya'll, meaning (Your Family), can't have it both ways. Either Christina discovered the note and then alerted authorities after laurean was long gone, and you met with him and discussed what happened, or you did this meeting prior to the publics awareness of known events to date? It can't be both.

Its the 8th picture Ticamom but picture 7 was very interesting also(maybe they have added more pictures and the order is off since you posted).Maybe its just me but do I see two missing sections out of the fence?Anyone else see that?
