Missing cell phones

I have two theories: they ditched the phones to give a reason for the thirty minutes are so before they called LE.

Or

There were photo's on the phone that they didn't want LE to find because they were incriminating. From what I learned online earlier today, photos are only accessible by LE IF you upload them to your cellphone carriers site.

Quit cheating! I said reasons why an INTRUDER would take the phones.

IMO, one or more of these phones were found in the woods. There is a video where the reporter is asking Captain Young about why LE was rushing for crime scene tape in that wooded area. Also, the couple was brought to that wooded area, and a loud confrontation was witnessed and reported on as well, with the couple leaving in a rush. These links for this exist on these threads somewhere and I can dig them up. I believe this all occurred on Thursday, Oct 6th.

I think we might not have heard everything about this because the case is being built to get a conviction. MOO.

Thursday announcement on the parents not cooperating mentioned by reporter at end here:

Last interview by parents Friday, October 7th and JI talks about the interview on Thursday about how he couldn't take it anymore:

(notice how she changes the subject, sobs, etc. to avoid the hard answers to tough questions about what happened with LE)

At 4:50 of the above interview she thanks the FBI and then says "If we've forgotten anyone, we're sorry" as if the FBI KNEW about someone she was in contact with that night, yet she didn't mention it. And you can bet they called her on it with aggressiveness. MOO

On Friday, October 7th, this reporter announces that metal detectors have been brought out for the first time (likely in search of the other phones which LE suspected were put somehwhere else near the home, including their backyard):

Probably the biggest statement by LE is at 1:10 of this video:

"You gotta remember our main goal is to find this missing girl, and their involvement is clearly our best bet."

If the intruder knew that the family home didn't have a landline, why didn't they know dad would have a phone, and that the neighbors would still have phones?

How much of a head start would that realistically give them? IMO, it doesn't make any sense for the perp to take the phones.

Don't even really need a phone to get 911 out to your house at 4am. Just go out on your front lawn and start screaming bloody murder. Lay on your car horn and don't let up! Neighbors will call the police for you ...guarantee it. ;)

is it possible that the parents lied about owning a cell phone except his work one on the first night, then later questioned and again vague on it. Then LE confronted them about knowing the had cell phones, this is when the parents spoke on camera and leak out the phones were taken.

I remember on one of the websites on day one or two, before parents mentioned the phones were missing a person by the name of MB stated "there were other things besides Lisa that was taken" Perhaps this statement on the comment section LE saw and investigated the phones.

I didn't hear that at all. He just sald he had not learned about them till then.

Actually what he said is that police originally reported to us that nothing else was missing from the house except the baby.

I find that report confusing. Reporter is saying that THEY had just gotten that information about the phones. He then goes on to say that the cell phones being missing had been reported to the police, but exactly WHEN they were reported missing seems kind of sketchy from this report.

I tend to think the parents had reported it to LE earlier on, but had just that day told reporters about it. JMO

The reporter did not say the phones were not reported missing until Thurs. That's not what he said at all.

He said the police originally told reporters that nothing else was missing from the home, other than the baby. And the parents later told reporters that 3 cell phones were missing.

If they knew Dad wasn't home that's a moat point.....Mom wakes up first has to run to neighbors, wake them up probably a good 10-15 minute headway which late at night is excellent!

Furthermore as it is we have no idea what time the baby was taken, Mom didn't wake up (they had to have known that when they left) so they had huge headstart.

Here is the video about the argument in the wooded area:

According to this reporter, the phones were not reported missing by the parents until Thursday, October 6th.

Must see video.
BBM

If true, could that possibly fit in a timeline where LE had already looked into cell phone activity for that night and questioned DB/JI regarding their cell phones, which at that point they said the phones were "missing"? Reminds me of someone whose gun was used in a crime, and the owner tells LE "oh, it was stolen months ago".

However, I understood the parents to say they reported the phones missing almost immediately.

:waitasec:

Whoal....how did I miss this? I hope all following this case watch the video so we can discuss it.

imo

I can't believe none of the reporters got footage of this argument.

I actually asked about the phones being reported the next morning and someone said it had been discussed already - 2,000 posts into it lol So, I don't know. Pepitone said they reported them the "next morning", but it was already morning when the police showed up.

edited to say I realize now the above "next morning" quote is incorrect.

He actually said "this morning" they reported the phones missing. The report was done on 10/6 - two days later, if the date stamp is correct.
