Forgive me if I'm completely wrong. But it was stated on tonights JP show in the MSN thread that JI was working away at the time the call was made?

Yes. He returned home at 3:45 a.m. or thereabouts, the call was placed at 2:38 a.m.

I think LE can verify when JI got off work. The call was made using one of the 3 phones left on their kitchen counter, and he was not home yet at that time.

I would bet MW does not even have a land line. Most young people just use their cells nowadays, imo.
I'm curious how young she is. Her hair looked younger than her face to me, and I do not mean that in any way rude. I just haven't had pink hair since I was in my early twenties (or 19?), so I just associate it young. I agree though, if you're under 30-35 at least you are probably more wireless.

Voicemail, caller ID, email and texting are the most wonderful inventions EVER. When my mom visits she gets awfully upset when she sees me not immediately answering either phone, which is the case 90% of the time.
If it isn't the school, I usually let VM get it. Phones are completely different now, in terms of their purpose and such. That's why I find it odd that she doesn't know who had her phone. It's possible no doubt, I cna think of scenarios- I just can't exactly relate is all.

It is odd. Most everyone that I know keeps their cell phone pretty close to them. If she was asleep at 2:30, then it would probably have been in the charger and next to her bed somewhere. But since she says she does not know 'who answered it'---that tells me that she was likely awake and probably hanging with a few friends, and thinks one of them might have been using it at the time. Or she knows EXACTLY who would have answered,
and is afraid to say so in public.

My hair was pink and hot pink a few times, but not after I turned about 25 or 26. My kids love to look at those pix of me and laugh. LOL

MM hm. I agree, it's a bit of a mystery. I agree that all your guesses are good ones.

I don't know anyone under 30 years old that has a land line. They all have cell phones these days.

The only folks I know with a land line are old fogies like me lol!

Seems odd that a call that could mean everything in this case just happens to be one that the owner of the phone claims to know nothing about, did not answer, doesn't know if anyone else did, etc...I am NOT a phone person, don't have a landline and almost never know where my cell is or if it is charged, but if it DID happen to ring after midnight I would feel compelled to answer it...JMO

I totally agree. My phone=my cell phone. JMO

I say that ***###@@@+++ contraption that I can never find when it's ringing.

Here is the other weird thing about that call. IF the caller wanted to talk to some one else, NOT MW, then they would have to have known that the person they wanted to speak to would have MW's cell to use at that night. So, imo, the person would have to have called the caller earlier to give them that number. So I think LE knows exactly who answered the phone.

Mm hm. That sounds logical. Except the part about LE knows who answered the phone.

All the other stuff sounds probable.

I don't think LE knows who answered that phone. They'd be in handcuffs, or at the very least, there would have been a search warrant on their home and phone and computers.

Honestly, I don't think they've tracked it down further than the girl who owns the phone. I really believe after they interviewed her 4 times, and she doesn't know who answered that critical call, the gave up on that CRUCIAL lead. IMHO. I think they just thought oh well, this lead didn't pan out. Back to the drawing board, this one didn't pan out. IMHO again.

I like to keep a land line because my cell reception isn't always 100% (I get voice mails and texts sometimes hours after they are sent), and I want to make sure that my daughters' school can get a hold of me immediately.

I'm not so sure that cell vs. land line has so much to do with age as it does utility. Unless your cell phone has perfect reception all the time, I can't imagine not keeping a land line as a backup for emergencies and such - especially as a mom of school age kids... JMO

so if there were a 50 second call and no answer that had to go to voice mail .. . was a message or any sounds heard...

why would she not know who answered it? If she heard it ring and didnt get the phone.. I normally hit redial to see who was trying to reach me...
If someone did answer and talk to the stolen phone person did he/she delete call after.. was it there visable.. when LE took to questioning the woman with the pink hair?

I think that stolen phone was taken and perhaps partly the neighbor and her hubby... made call to one of their friends.. the woman with the pink hair has been rumored to KNOW one of the players in this other than the parents...

I wonder if the local stations have put out a alert for the man walking in the cold to come foward so he can eliminate himself??? Than man has to know people are looking as to who he is.. if he did nothing wrong.. come in and clear yourself.

They need the man in the cold to come foward.. if he wont and it is televised they need him.. then somthing may be to the man and the baby.... but i still suspect baby lisa mom has some knowledge of somthing..

All of my kids never ever were asleep by 640.... 10 month olds have afternoon nap and bed time is normally between 830 and 10pm at latest.. just the experiences i have had and looking up research on sleep patterns and scedules for infants/toddlers...

Wouldn't it be crazy if DB's brother is the ex-boyfriend???
Before I saw this post I was wondering the same thing. Isn't DB's brother around 19 or 20? I saw somewhere that MW seemed 'young', whatever that means (at my age everyone is young!). Does anyone know? Does she look to be about the brother's age?

IT DIDN'T GO TO VOICEMAIL. SOMEONE ANSWERED IT, AND HAD A 50 SECOND CONVERSATION. THE OWNER OF THE CELL PHONE SAYS THE CALL WAS ANSWERED, AND SHE DOESN'T KNOW WHO ANSWERED IT OR WHAT THE CONVERSATION CONSISTED OF.

Sorry to "shout". I don't mean to be shrill. I'm just trying to get the message out, this call didn't go to voicemail, It was answered and a conversation took place.

It's like a full time job on this forum to get that message out. For some reason, the thought that it went to voice mail will just not die, it's like whack-a-mole. You can stand there with a mallet in your hand and whack a mole every time someone thinks it went to voicemail, then when you leave to go to a party or something, there's like 25 more posts who think the call went to voice mail.

IT DIDN'T!! IT WAS ANSWERED AND THE OWNER OF THE CELL DOESN'T KNOW WHO ANSWERED IT.

No.

That message was too short to be submitted, but the rules of this forum, so I had to ad this line.

She's about the same age as DB.

I wonder, too. Because her statement as it was released, doesn't make much sense. Obviously, by the time she made the statement she knew that a baby was missing. Wouldn't you explain yourself more completely, like, " I was at a party and misplaced the phone, so anyone could have picked it up." Or, "I loaned it out to a friend of mine but have no idea if he/she answered it or it was someone else." As quoted, her statement is extremely cryptic. It sounds like she's either hiding something or her quote was edited somehow.

Here's a thought: maybe DB used one of those phones that night and then afterwords realized that LE could trace the call back to her. She had to get rid of it so her only idea was to say it was stolen by the kidnapper. Since it would be too odd to say that only that particular phone was stolen, she had to make like all 3 were taken. When the pings are checked LE should be able to tell what location the phone was at when the call was made.

I always thought it was very strange that a baby is kidnapped ... along with three cell phones! Who would do that? I have a feeling that this cell phone call may break the case.

Not to be snarly or anything, but, how do you know DB's brother is not MW's ex-BF? Do you know who the ex-BF is? Are you a local? Do you know this family?

The reason people keep thinking it went to voicemail is probably because MW's explanation doesn't make any sense. Someone answered that call and MW isn't revealing who that was. Why? What is she hiding? LE questioned her 4 times for the same reason. She must know something. The whole cell phone story has been bizarre from the beginning, and I think it may be the key to the entire mystery.

Is the phone call what the GJ was about? If they wanted raw footage, didn't someone say MW was seen in some of the footage from earlier in the case?
