Thank you for the comparison. People are getting too comfortable by not wearing their mask and staying 6 ft apart. Plus this new variant. People need to be more vigilant. I still wear my mask out in public and take precautions.

Be safe my friend!

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – New COVID-19 cases in Missouri have more than doubled in less than three weeks, possibly spurred by the Delta variant and lagging vaccination rates.

Infections jumped to a 7-day rolling average of 1,089 cases on Tuesday, up from approximately 531 on June 25.

According to the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services, the state has recorded 536,427 cumulative cases of SARS-CoV-2 — an increase of 1,627 positive cases (PCR testing only) — and 9,440 total deaths as of Tuesday, July 13, an increase of 52 over Monday. That’s a case fatality rate of 1.76%.

Please keep in mind that not all cases and deaths recorded occurred in the last 24 hours.

Approximately 2.44 million people have completed the vaccination process in Missouri; 56.0% of all adults 18 years of age and older have initiated the process. The state has administered 53,698 doses of vaccine in the last 7 days (this metric is subject to a delay, meaning the last three days are not factored in). The highest vaccination rates are among people over 65.

Yes they need to figure out what they are doing wrong.
It's no mystery what's going wrong. The variants are on the rampage and not nearly enough people in Missouri have been vaccinated. I have a friend there who says her county has only a 28% vaccination uptake. What an unnecessary tragedy! Manitoba, Canada turned high case numbers around. We're heading for 80% of people 12 and over vaccinated. Our case numbers have dropped to 25 new cases today/ population 1.25 million people. We have only 9 active Covid cases in our ICUs now. We are seeing the power of vaccines unfolding before our very eyes. The Covid vaccines are very effective and safe.

I have a son that lives in Missouri and I did live in Missouri before we moved. Where my son lives they were very lax at even wearing mask in the beginning especially in crowds. We went to some of grandsons sporting events and wore our mask the majority did not.

I think that was a problem from the beginning and still is. People who are not vaccinated do not wear mask and probably never did.
