I have not been allowed to sign up for shifts, since April 8th, along with all of the other nurses in the float pool. This time of uncertainty, is not easy to deal with. I'm 61 and can't see myself starting over in another career, but I won't be surprised if there are many layoffs of nursing and ancillary staff.

Hi Lori, That is what I am hearing also about layoffs in the Nursing field. They laid off 600 at Children's Mercy in Kansas City a week or 2 ago. I have also heard that has happened across the United Stated in some areas.
