But I will say that me remembering incorrectly that Garrison was/wasn't in your apartment, but rather in a room at the Sheriton Inn doesn't negate the fact that Dustin and yourself had a connection to Garrison even if it was just a small one, I mean, lets not split hairs here on friendships -vs- brief encounters because that's not the point of me asking and I am by no means trying to tie you to this crime. I'm just trying to figure out if or how Garrison might play into this whole thing. Six in one hand half dozen in the other as it pertains to Apartment -vs- Room at Sheriton Inn. How well did you even know Joe if you don't mind me asking? Did he have knowledge that Susie had given police a statement regarding the grave robbing crime? Was Joe into "Other Things" or have connections to "Other People" that were into worse things. What kind of crowd did he run with? Do you know if Joe knew or ever crossed paths with Garrison or one of the Robbs??? I'm just trying to figure out if Joe or Garrison might have had any reason to be concerned about Susie and anything she may have known, or anything either one of them thought she may have knew. Because if either one of them, or both of them had a reason to be worried about Susie narking on them for something they thought she might have knowledge of, be it real, or just presumed in their paranoid heads, that may be something to consider looking deeper into.

There is a huge difference between friendship and seeing someone once. Pushing it to be more than a brief encounter is trying to change facts and feels like you just trying to make something fit. If you have to change facts to make something fit, it does not fit.

I still think people try and make this crime too complicated.

There are some glaring facts that make this crime look closer to home than some random sexual deviant.

Like the no forced entry into the home, the fact the crime scene looked staged. The fact that the last known people to see the two girls alive was also the first ones at the home the following morning who then conveniently contaminated the crime scene.

The fact there was no sign of a sexual assault in the home, the fact that whoever did this was able to alter their plan so successfully that it didn’t matter were they killed one person or 3.

There also is no bloody crime scene in the house.

Yes why remove them from the house and opening themselves up to a bigger risk.

And leave purses and cars behind? Those things being in the house or out front make family and friends wonder where you are.

Yes for a everyday normal functioning person the light still be on the porch, cars and everybody left behind the vast majority of people would think something was wrong.

I can see why LE was so perplexed by the Crime scene and the fact 18 people had been in and out of the house.

Excluding everybody bar Stacey’s parents I would love to know how many visitors the house normally got on any given day as I’m betting with Sherill being such a private person it wasn’t even close to 5 people let alone 18.

You're reading too much into what I've said. I have already said there was no INTENT to scew information. Just a bad memory on my part, of which I apologized for more than once. And, my INTENT was to see if there was possibly a way in which Garrison or one of the people who may have been around him at the time, inadvertently found out about Susie and her giving a statement to police, and thus making her a target for what happened. Nothing more, Nothing less. :)

Did you or your friend that dated Suzie know if any of the women had a stalker? Or was there any weirdos in the town that were suspicious?

Not at the time. I did learn about a creepy stalker type years later though. But it can’t be proven he even really knew Sherrill.

Ok, fair enough I may have been confusing that with Susie being at your apartment. I apologize!! My intent is not to conflate or confuse this stuff any further than it already is. I sincerely apologize for not remembering that correctly!!! Sincerely Mike!
Appreciate the apology. Rare that that happens and it goes a long way with me. Thank you.

I knew Joe fairly well. I lived with him in Illinois for about 6 months before he moved to Springfield with me. He wasn’t into anything out of the ordinary. He was just a punk kid like me.

Joe never met Garrison. He was already back in Illinois when Garrison was released from prison. I would have to say Joe never would have met any of the Robbs. He never went anywhere without me while he was in Springfield and I never met any of the Robbs.

I don’t know for sure if Joe knew Suzie wrote a statement or not. I’ve never asked him about that. I’m guessing he did because he was at the police station when Dusty and Suzie were there. They all three wrote statements that were practically identical. I don’t know why he’d be upset with Suzie when he did the same thing she did?

And you are correct. There is a connection between Garrison, Dusty and myself. I’ve never denied that. I just want it to be perfectly clear that I wasn’t friends with him and the interactions we had were very brief. I get defensive about that because I have a bad enough reputation with the graveyard vandalism. I don’t want to be associated as friends with a convicted rapist too. I’m sure you can understand.

If anybody was as happy as a clam that Suzie made a statement to the police and all was well then why did Suzie and Dusty break up?

I never asked her why but if I had to guess, Suzie broke up with Dusty because of the graveyard vandalism and her getting dragged down to the police station. She probably felt pressure from her friends and mom to not be with someone associated with that.
I know I had a few friends and even some family that distanced themselves from me because of that.

Edit: spelling

Would you say Suzie was desperate to be liked and could be persuaded to do things she didn’t necessarily agree with just so she fitted in with her peer group?

Are you asking that because of 48 hours episode. I'm just going to say that cop was super creepy.

Yes I am going back though some of the old stuff and I have read somewhere before that she often felt like she didn’t fit in and maybe that lead to a few bad decisions. I am just wondering if there is any truth in that.

I never got that impression from her.

Maybe this is the British in me but I instantly cringe when these cops go to a psychic.

I’m sorry it’s absolutely ridiculous and then the detective has the balls to say with a straight face the ones they talked to agree on “water”

Yes because the world isn’t covered in water and isn’t the most convenient cop-out for psychics. It’s like amateur hour and makes the cops look like muppets.

While she was around us and not around her normal friends she drank a little beer but I never saw her smoke any pot. All of my friends smoked a lot of pot but she never tried to fit in and smoke with us.

I thought that was common sense or the normal response to a "psychic". I like when they say "trees", "water", "train tracks" and/or "rocks" as where you'll find the body or the person being held.
