The actual lightbulb was still working. The only part that broke was the decorative bulb that covers the light bulb.
Really? That might mean the light broke and had nothing to do with the missing women.

It’s possible Mike or Janelle broke the light if he or she banged on the door.
I agree! I’d think if the globe was broken during a struggle there would’ve been drops of blood-some sort of disarray.

Since Janelle (and Mike) assumed the women already went to the water park (her words not mine) perhaps Janelle got...angry. She could have broken the globe.
Just a thought...no proof except her statement. And wouldn't a reasonable person have at least flip-flops tucked in the car? It's not like they lived a mile down the road. She lived in another town. No shoes? Another thing that does not add up.
rsbmTypically, yes they would. But if the girls came in late and had been drinking, they may have not been thinking very clearly and just wanted to get to bed and left a note so that Sherrill was aware of it since she was possibly sleeping. Just a thought.
rsbm
they must have been clear thinking enough to drive their cars but not enough to break a light cover and clean it up?
BBMcan anyone support the claim with a reference link about there being a note on the table about a light notworking. I can not find anything apart from forum discussions :-(
it is very important to be able to put it to be bed or validate it.
lets put ourselves in the situation.
if there was a broken glass on that porch nobody I know would simply leave it there.
it had to have happened no later than the night before imo otherwise sherrill would have cleaned it up. no question.
this didn't affect the workings of the light itself and Imo the note has no relevance to the porch broken cover.
it was problematic enough for "casual friends' to take it upon themselves to clean it up after all.
not just clean it up but REMOVE it from the SCENE to a different premises
way back in this thread it was discussed that there is BLOOD evidence of stacy somewhere around the front door porch area.
I shall try to locate that later if I have time today.
if somebody else doesn't beat me to it!
and you could be right....was there really glass on the porch...what 'proof' was there that a globe existed? Nigel was there the evening before, she would be able to confirm either way.

There is something off about her behavior. Janelle waited in the house and answered the phone. It sounded like she saw the purses and noticed a TV on, where did she think they were? Sherrill wasn't supposed to be at the water park and they showed up early in the morning. Even if Janelle thought they got a ride with someone else despite how everything was left, wouldn't she have expected the mom to come home?

[/QUOTE]And where do we find info about this 'trace evidence' of Stacy's blood on the porch? Someone mentioned it before, wish I'd questioned them. Darnit! Another missed opportunity and I would not doubt it, I remember Janelle saying they 'cleaned it up so no one would cut their foot on it' which makes sense but....hmmm
