I disagree with this premise entirely.

I do not believe a crime like this is simple nor is it executed this precisely without planning for the variance of risks.

1. It wasn't random (IMO)
2. I don't assume the motive is sexual

Didn’t LE state it was more than likely a sexual motivated attack on Sherrill?

I agree it wasn’t random and that whoever did this at least one of the victims knew who they were hence they had to be killed. But I’m trying to come up with different explanations as we really don’t know much at all.

ETA - hell I could go with Stacey even knowing who the guilty people were who did this as you could of easily of tied her up and gagged her and left her behind. If this wasn’t about her then no need to take her if you she didn’t know anything.

I also do not believe the motive was sexual or random.

There was a reason as to why all 3 'disappeared' (of course, ha) but how it happened...is another matter. We all have our fav' scenarios.

Reasons for Murders/Killings (www.quora.com)

Revenge, Jealousy, Greed (top 3)
then there's:
Power
Cultural
Blinding Anger/Ego
Fear (losing one's life and also fear of one's secret being exposed)
Low Socio-Economical state
Psychological disorders (too many to list)

Now the root causes of ALL Murders/Killings (except for reasons of Self-defense and Psychological disorders) are:
1. Lack of Spirituality (Detachment, Self-Control, Empathy etc etc)
2 Lack of Maturity/Rationality/Intelligence
3. Crime of passion ( ie. sudden rage)

Take your pick everyone!

Unfortunately, past data doesn't help with a case that is such a huge outlier. I can't even think of another case where three women get abducted at once without a trace. Three women at multiple times, yes, not at once.

Wasn’t there a mother & daughter with friend killed while hiking some years ago? I’m vaguely remembering something like that.

Suggest rereading of Thread # 7.

One of the most prolific posters postulated this crime was commited by a single perp.

Once one works from that premise it is easy to see how a single perp with great police knowledge could’ve commited this crime and that it would in fact be “sexual assault.”

He would also know how to stage such a crime.

I think this was a case where the women needed to be shut up or taken out.

No. Never seen that.

And if they did, I'd like to see a link.

No link but the quote

"Police speculate sexual assault may have been the motive, with
Levitt the intended victim."

Jefferson City News Tribune, July 23, 2004

I don’t make up stuff!!

"at once" is relative. Maybe one was easier than another, but overall it was between an hour or two window for all three. It's "at once" in my book.

Which one, in your opinion, would be easiest to nab and yes in a one to two hour window (that's a tight schedule! whew!)

Does anybody know who told LE that the cars had been moved as they wasn’t originally parked like that?

I thought the neighbor next door was away at the time so it would be interesting to know who saw the cars parked one way considering the time of the morning when they arrived home.

Nigel but IMO her perspective was not taken seriously enough. Old habits die hard.

Another thought....did Sherrill attend a church Sunday mornings?

That was 2004 and as far as I know, LE hasn't posted another reason, which I'm not sure if they really know either way or what way. :( Wish they'd reassert their view/opinion....right or wrong, it might draw in some more leads.
