well what is interesting about this situation is....
the court case was iirc only weeks away and also iirc without suzies testimony the case was dropped.

anyone who doesn't find this piece of information a huge red flag needs to look again.
I agree, but to me, that makes the grave robbers the suspects. There's no evidence that Susie knew anything about any high-level drug dealers, but we know that she was planning to testify against the grave robbers.

yeah I am not confident what the connection is ozoner either...but it is a redflag .
the things going on around them and amongst them is the only avenue that makes sense to me however.
that and the people who entered the house without permission are also very big red flags.

at the end of the day I truly believe this crime was far smaller and simpler than we have at times blown it out to be.
3 women to go puff in the night must mean something enormous...….but im suspicious its much much smaller and closer than thought.

I think people sometimes over think this crime, it was graduation night.

Emotions running very high, drink and maybe even drugs going on ( I’m not suggesting anything hardcore) and they probably got followed home and something went down.

I definitely think they knew who did this to them as well or Stacey would be still be alive today.

IMO

I do imagine Suzie might have seen a familiar face and then knew what was up.

And her mom also.

While I can see the grave diggers as suspects/suspicious with their behavior after the disappearances Suzie may not have had to testify. There was still time for a plea bargain to take place which would make her disappearance by the grave robbers not necessary. MOO

I do agree this is probably a lot more simple than anyone has probably speculated other than SPD. All MOO I really think it goes back to the circle of friends and what happened in the weeks leading up to graduation and that night. Something brought those two girls together after seemingly years apart. If you find out what brought them back together you might find out who did this. If you find out the what you might find out The Who. Again MOO.

Edited for spelling.

Probably.
-
The two smallest theories are A) revenge (by DR & co.) and B) abduction, rape, and murder by a sexual predator.
-
There are a few other possibilities that could fit.

I vote (B).

I vote (B).

B makes no logical sense though with the time frame being so small.

What are the odds a sexual predator waited until nearly dawn to kidnap and kill the 3 women and 2 were not even meant to be there?!!!

If this was just Sherill being killed in the middle of the night I could go along with a random person doing this. But the time frame fits this being about Suzie and not her mum and Stacey. The other’s were collateral damage due to whatever happened.

the problem with a sexual predator.....is just that.

predator.

where is he??
where are his other victims??
predators have pattern behaviours and are creatures of habit.

there was no known predator on the springfield radar at the time /before or after iirc.

moves back into boogie man territory....without a trace??

also I dont know of single predators who take on 3 victims at once.

Again: the larger truth is this: this thing was about drugs; three people don't disappear so cleanly and so totally over anything but drugs; or at least they would not have in Springfield, Missouri, back then.

Do you know something other people don't?

Three would be rare, but there have been quite a few predators who have gone after two victims at once.

One of the few other triple disappearances of adult women occurred when three young women disappeared from the Indiana Dunes State Park in 1966. It's believed that they were abducted and murdered because they had witnessed a crime.

A single perp has been responsible, more than once, for multiple murders in the same house. A search of this board alone reveals many. Why wouldn't three women, in fear for their lives, obey a single male with a weapon? Does the name Cary Stayner ring a bell? And the three women he abducted and murdered were removed from a hotel lodge without anyone seeing anything at a popular tourist spot.

It's possible one person killed them. I'm not ruling anything out. It is easier to kidnap woman on vacation who aren't familiar with their surroundings then to abduct them from their home without a trace.

I do not agree. Fear is fear is fear is fear. Cooperation with even the unlikely hope of things working out is much more reasonable. NO ONE thinks they are going to be murdered, especially by someone they think they know.

And you can NEVER underestimate the advantage of complete and utter surprise.

hey cat mommy
if your comment is referring to my post, im not dizzying a single perp possibility.
im talking about ozners post, not going for a PREDATOR who kidnaps 3 victims and didn't do it before or after.
leaves no trace. never to be heard of again.

single perpetrator is a different kettle of fish.
