The witness is now showing the jury a hand-drawn map of the route he took to leave the Peachtree Boat Landing, which includes Mill Pond Road and Highway 814.

The witness reiterated on cross that he found Elvis' vehicle a few minutes after 4 a.m., on Dec. 18. No further questions and the witness was excused.

I agree. I cannot believe they would not use a real map from a major website. Good Grief.

This is the easy type stuff that the prosecution should not be making any mistakes on. They should print a new one right now and submit it as evidence to go on record before day is out.

The state's next witness is Danny Furr, a sergeant with the Horry County Police Department who was a corporal in December 2013.

The witness said he went to the Tilted Kilt, where Elvis work, after the initial report came in that she was missing. Furr testified he spoke with Elvis' boss, who indicated a relationship between Moorer and Elvis and may have some information as to her whereabouts. The officer was provided a number for Moorer.

This officer is the one who contacted SM, he got the call about her missing and went to her work, spoke with manager (her boss a male) provided this LEO with SM telephone number.

ETA: He called SM via telephone for first contact regarding this case. Says SM answered the telephone, LEO identified himself. SM paused after that. Then LE asked if SM knew how to get in touch with HE, says he asked for help b/c manager at TK indicated that SM might know how to get in touch with HE. SM stated he had not spoken to HE in at least 6 weeks. LEO asked again what the relationship was btwn them and then SM says he talked to HE the night before to tell her to stop contacting him. LEO called him out on the change in the story. LEO told SM that they needed to speak in person. The conversation ended.

Can't imagine a more mild mannered nice kid than SS appears to be. Also slim build. He would have no reason to lure Heather out. They were already out together.

Yes! And he didn't let the defense bait him into their lurid and weak traps! The whole "and we are just supposed to take your word on that?" questioning is so transparent. It screams, "we couldn't find anything to discredit your statement so we're just gonna imply that you COULD be lying to us."

Furr testified Moorer initially indicated he hadn't spoken to Elvis in six weeks, but then said he spoke to Elvis the night before to get her to stop contacting him.

Truslow is up with the "crime report" from this LEO. Truslow mentioned defecation. Judge says to both lawyers not to have "this conversation" out in the open, they were standing in the middle of the room looking at the report.

The officer said he felt there was some hesitation in Moorer's answers, plus the conflicting answers regarding the last time he had spoken to Elvis. Furr testified that was why he felt a follow-up investigation with the defendant was necessary.
