I have seen dozens of trials and it seems in every one, a witness regrets much of what he/she said in original statement to LE. Note to self: If ever I need to make a statement to police, "Say as little as possible".
Exactly, putting that in my notebook!

I feel like if there was something important in the first statement for the defense they wouldn't have tried to stop Bri from being a witness.
Exactly. IMO I think KT was actually not being an a** at this moment, he was trying to get the facts from the statement she gave over 2 years ago (I mean that was a long time ago)

Bri said she never knew where Jeremy lived. They are saying that in her statement she said he lived near Longbeards. If she said she didn't remember it wouldn't matter, but she said she never said that. So they need to present the statement.

They've decided to let Bri read the transcribed statement, so not playing it.
Yes, thankfully we don't have to HEAR it, they have the transcripts.

What is KT looking for?

WMBF News

Defense is looking through the transcribed statement to find the specific portions to ask Warrelmann about before the jury is brought back in.

I suspect that maybe there is something in the statement that implicates Jeremy? When the statement was taken, She was probably wracking her brain trying to figure out how her best friend could have disappeared off the face of the earth.

... and thinking she was leaving with the love of her life .. that he just left his wife...

all this commotion and he doesn't find what he thinks he is looking for.....

Anyone recall the items that were sealed by the D (until trial?)? Could have been for the murder charge, but not sure if it ever came up again.

Did Bri testify that HE usually left the back door open when she went out? Still wondering if SM could have gotten into that apartment that night. After all, he phoned her just after she returned home from her date. How did SM know when she got home?

I think there were a few things - All I can remember right now is:
Was Jeremy Physically AND Emotionally abusive?
Where did Jeremy live?

I agree, but I think I'd be defiant too- he's trying to show that his client isn't guilty, Bri is looking at her phone call with Heather that early morning, the messages she had seen from SM or TM, all of her experiences with HE, SM, and TM over the prior 5 months, and knowing in her heart that either SM or TM did something. She doesn't want the focus turned to Jeremy, the date, or anyone else. She knows in her heart who was responsible. It's so sad.

Any defense atty is out to show his client isn't guilty. And Bri doesn't get to decide the court's focus. She had attitude with KT and it doesn't help Heather. Bottom line, the court is vested in fact-finding and upholding rules of law. I'm frankly surprised that she's been given so much editorial license.

I see a lot of sympathy has been given here and rightfully so BUT I imagine this is what she and her attorney expected. This was carefully gone over and scripted down to a T in preparation with this witness. But from her first "not really" response to an outright not wanting to listen to it again, believe me the jury also knows, way before the Judge may it obvious. Even the defense attorney is coming out smelling like roses as he is not making a strong argument.

Unfortunately, she will have to be the one to read it into the record?

:-(

Yes, if she was leaving for a long time. Otherwise, she left the front door open if she was only gone to be gone for a few minutes.

Well, they have her phone records to show that J not call her and ask her to meet him. Even if the restaurant was near where he lived, why would she have just driven there in the middle of the night?
Someone had to suggest a meeting.
I don't blame her for, in the beginning, telling LE about everything and everyone who might have a hand in HE's disappearance.

She testified that she'd leave the back door open if she was going to be out for a long time. The front door if it was a short time. Sounds like HE did not have a key.

She said that Heather had a habit of leaving the front door unlocked if she was coming right back. If she was going to be gone longer, she would leave the back door unlocked as opposed to the front door (I think back door was a sliding glass door to a screened in porch)

Defense attorney Truslow said he is ready to proceed. He has handed the witness the statement for her to review specific portions he has questions about.

Bri is looking over her statement. Not reading aloud yet.
