and it is consistent with Ron's prior statements that they haven't looked enough at Baker county. That seemed to be the "story" being concocted prior to their decision to try and implicate Misty's family. This makes me wonder if perhaps someone in Misty's family did help them and so its too close to the truth or if Misty's family has other information about Ron that he doesn't want getting out so he is backing off trying to accuse them.

Misty implicating CS points out further just how much of a liar she is. There is absolutely no evidence of such involvement nor has LE ever seemed to pursue this theory despite certain Cummings supporters on the internet trying to suggest that this is the case. If LE thought Haleigh was out there living with family there would be evidence of such an investigatory approach which there isn't. The only place LE went is to MA to speak with Misty's brother which of course coincided with the fake "siting" of Haleigh that was only reported to the media.

If the Sheffields have Haleigh secreted away then why is LE so focused on Misty and why is she the key and why does it matter that she is lying? If the Sheffields had Haleigh Misty's lies about that evening would be of no consequence as what possible info could she have that would be relevant to where Haleigh is being hidden?

It seems Misty and Ron have decided their best bet is a story that Haleigh is alive and living with some Sheffields and LE just needs to move on and leave them alone. We'll see how that works-not too well I hope.

I don't like it that she seemed to be putting blame on Crystal and her family. When Misty said she thought the other side of the family had Haleigh she was referring to Crystal right?

methinks perhaps Ron is not entirely forthcoming with his lawyer. This also shows how it didn't even OCCUR to his lawyer that the Sheffields could be invovled-kind of shows how ludicrous the idea is. If his own lawyer wouldn't even think "sheffields" when the "other side" of the family is mentioned I guess supporters of the "CS did it" school of thought won't be having much success.

Also, wasn't the Baker county thing tried on his last lawyer and was apparently not a great success with anyone as both the lawyer and the claim disappeared until Misty just resurrected it.

I'm not sure. Mr. Beardsley seems to think that Misty was pointing a finger squarely at Ronald's family. Why would he think that?

An attorney for the father of missing Putnam County girl Haleigh Cummings said any suggestion his family had anything to do with the disappearance is "absolutely ludicrous."

Haleigh's stepmother, Misty Croslin Cummings, made the suggestion during her interview today on national television.

"Someone came in and got her, obviously," Misty Croslin Cummings, 17, told CBS' "The Early Show." "I feel like it's on the other side of the family that has her. That's just how I feel."

Later, Ronald Cummings' attorney Brandon Beardsley called Misty Cummings' statement "absolutely ludicrous."

"That was stated merely for the purpose of deflecting attention away from her," Beardsley told the Orlando Sentinel.

Sounds to me like Brandon Beardsley is showing a guilty conscience. I bet he rues being caught making such a knee-jerk assumption and responding like that, instead of demonstrating skepticism that she could possibly have meant Ron's family.

I think it looks like he heard what he has been obsessively fearing she would say.

HLN reported Misty's attorney did not put an OK on her television appearance this morning.
To me that means Misty is feeling the pressure and is on a crusade to clear herself and point to SODDI. Why else would she agree to appear on tv and answer questions about her pending divorce, the night Haleigh went missing and so on. She certainly was not sitting there asking the public for help in finding Haleigh. Nor was she wanting to get dressed up and have her face seen across the country.
No, no matter what she claims (that she does not pay attention to people accusing her) she does care very much. And she is worried.
Can't help but notice the difference in her demeanor in the taped interview at the airport before she left for N.Y. and how she appeared on the set in this morning's interview.
At the airport, she was standing tall and seemed a bit sassy and so sure of herself.
On the set, she appeared so tiny and slumped into the furniture. He tone was almost mousy and timid.
I think all of us have a certain amount of skill in reading body language since we all have to deal with people in our own lives on a daily basis. Does anyone else see two different Misty's?

Yup. But after seeing him so smarmily BS his answers on NG, I wonder if he's smart enough to realize what his reaction exposed. He seems to suffer the curse of the arrogant, who underestimate what people can see through.

Definitely. Combined with all the tellings of her terrible life growing up, I've actually half-wondered if someone was setting up for a psych defense already.

GGM....she said, 9 days later.
Debs, do you have a link to where GGM said Haleigh was alive still 9 days later? I don't recall reading or hearing that anywhere
TIA...

Azwriter, i see exactly what you are saying as well. Misty may not be the best with words, however her body language speaks tons. Also what she hasn't said, how she has worded things.

Today on the early show, as she was answering a question with a verbal affirmative, she was shaking her head side to side as if in disagreement; contradicting what she was saying verbally. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7VGe497ldh0&feature=player_embedded#at=161
The above is a link to today's Early Show with Misty

The dialogue was:
"Did you feel ready and were you glad to take on those motherly responsibilites so early on?"
Misty:
"yes.., yep.., i love them kids"

While she is speaking yes and yep, her head is shaking back in forth "no".

He took the opportunity to publicly go for Misty's throat VERY QUICKLY. This is obviously a part of the Defense Divorce strategy IMHO to distance from Misty, throw her under the bus and, ensure everyone sees you pointing directly at her.

GGM....she said, 9 days later.

I've been trying to figure out if she actually said she SAW Haleigh when she dropped off the clothes on the porch or if she only saw Misty.

SATSUMA, Fla. -- Annette Sykes remembers very clearly the day she last saw Haleigh Cummings. Sykes is Haleigh’s great grandmother and said she went to the home her grandson lives in and got there just as Haleigh and her little brother were eating dinner on the front porch.

“She was sitting on the front porch when we pulled up…her and junior sitting up there with the plate and eating…when we go up---she’s just hollering hey granny, hey granny, just like they always do,” said Sykes.

http://crimesearchersonline.com/ind...n-Thread-for-Haleigh-Cummings-.html&Itemid=60

BAUER: The grandmother. Great-grandmother, Annette Sykes. She is Ronald`s grandmother, Teresa Neves` mother. She came by the house that night about 7 p.m. She had to drop off some clothing, and I think she did some laundry, helped the family out. She was dropping that off.

She says the kids were eating dinner, and Misty had just made them dinner. And that was the last time she saw Haleigh. And then, of course, as you know, Misty Croslin remembers seeing Haleigh at around 10 p.m.

Here`s what we do know. At about 5 p.m. an air-conditioning repair man visited the home. At 7 p.m., Haleigh`s great-Grandma, Inez Sykes, came by with clean clothes. And she says she saw Haleigh with Misty.

http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIP...7/ijvm.01.html

VELEZ-MITCHELL: Yes. You have to wonder why did she leave? The timeline of the night that Haleigh vanished doesn`t make any sense, people. Haleigh`s great grandmother, Annette Sykes, says she saw Haleigh at about 7:30 that night. Misty claims she put Haleigh to bed at about 8 p.m. that night. We just heard her say it.

http://edition.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0909/23/ijvm.01.html

We have only GGMS word (offered 10 days after timeline was first pieced together) that Haleigh was seen as late as 7pm outside on porch on a Feb. schoolnight, ("sittin up there w the plate and eatin..." ?) or that Haleigh was still outside eatin, hollerin--or doin anything--at any time that afternoon or eve, for that matter. (Having a harder time now pulling up Matt Saffer's original newsjax cbs47.com article which still appears in searches but now the page errors, so found and linked add'l references to this.) Quick question concerning the poly's that Misty took. Is it possible that she really does not know where Haleigh is but she feels guilty about having the disappearance happen when she was in charge, and that is what is causing her to fail? Or that she is lying about something else that is not concerning Haleigh?

Also, I am assuming that she was brought up to not trust LE and could that distrust, cause her to fail as well? I hope that makes sense cause I really don't know how else to explain what I am thinking.

TIA :-)

Yeah, but honestly I think GGM is a far more credible witness then Misty. One thing to note about the timeline that GVM is talking about. In his statement to LE, Misty's brother describes going to the house and finding it silent and dark at 10pm. Which puzzled him because the "TV was normally on at that hour for the kids". Ron worked late hours. Does anyone truly believe that that household maintained a regular 8 pm bedtime? Really? It sounds suspiciously like a line of bs being thrown to make Misty seem like a perfectly capable little mother and homemaker. And not a 17 year old partying teenager.

You mean the admission she made on the TODAY show that she failed after she's told the story over and over again that she "passed"? So which lie and which time would you like to choose to explain away what showed to be "deception" on the LDT? If she's feeling guilty, I don't think it's because she was the last to be seen Haleigh. She's lied about a lot of things.

After reading these reports I am unclear whether gmma sykes went inside Ron's home with the laundry or if it was left on the porch for Misty to take inside and put away. If gmma didn't go inside, we can't rule out Misty may have "hid" a "friend" inside the home while she was outside with Ron's in-laws. It is possible someone was inside the home at this point in the evening and because no one actually went inside and searched the home, Misty fooled them.

Which mental illness do you think they would claim she has? As far as i've seen Fl hasn't done much with their insanity plea cases, most mentally ill (ones who are severly mentally ill) still end up in the prison system..

Judging by this statement, it sounds as if it were normal for Misty to leave the tv on to help the children fall asleep. (i know many who leave on the cartoon channel so the little ones can watch until they fall asleep).
IMO, Misty drugged Haleigh to sleep so she could go out and party. Where she may have did this, or if she brought Haleigh and JR with her and left them in a car, while she partied is beyond me..

I think maybe Misty isn't showing much emotion about the divorce because she hasn't signed it yet.Maybe she doesn't intend to,or will just do it whenever she wants. But teens think for the moment, they live for right now and maybe she hopes he'll change his mind. But,I think she likes having people over a barrell,KWIM.

Remember when the incident happened with Tommy and RC in the fight and RC was arrested? When she picked RC up at the jail, she was walking in front of him and she was smiling.Whatever the fight was about,I think she enjoyed the attention and to me,she had the look of ,"See what I can do if I don't get my way?"Maybe I'm wrong, but I think she likes having the upper hand and right now she has information that everyone wants about HaLeigh, but she will tell it in her own time, when it benefits her.JMO

It's been my gut feeling, just from watching LE from early on, that LE suspects that whatever happened to Hayleigh did not happen in the home itself. The basic impression that they left from early on was that there was no real signs that it was a crime scene, and that there was no sign that a third party had abducted Haylieigh from the MH.

I know the sourcing is highly questionable, but the story of Misty taking Hayleigh out to a pill party with her friends and shady characters, and Hayleigh possibly getting and chewing an Oxycontin seems to be one that fits very well into all of the little subtle signals we have been getting from everyone in this. RC, MC, LE, etc.
