Misty said she passed her poly. RC said he passed, "With flying colors" and added Misty passed hers too. These two have lied and deflected throughout the process. Who ever said he passed a "Lie Detector Test" but him. There has been no proof that rc spent his entire night at work. He could have been with misty at some point. Even if not, misty was the person who he was protecting from about 3:30am on Feb 10, 2009 till the present date, despite the fact that many have told him she is the key to finding Haleigh.

As far as "hauling rc or anyone in"..that doesn't apply to rc or misty. They both have criminal defense attorneys..."Red Flag, anyone"? If you recall, both of these two shut down right after the wedding. They only popped up again after RC got arrested and he wanted people to think highly of him, thus, he started a campaign for "let's find my daughter".....up to that point, the couple did nothing but hide from LE and the press.

Hiring Criminal Defense Attorneys = people who can be held responsible for a crime. Misty and her ex obviously believe that to be the case....with good reason, imo.

As far as the other family being responsible.....LE has got to rule out the ones who lived in the MH before that can happen. So get the Cummmings/Croslins cleared and then you can have your field day with the Sheffields.

"they just need to move on" was about the last thing we've heard from Misty until she was jumped during her visit to the drug parking lot. Hope things are calming down at the Croslins.

With Misty hanging around them, LE are but a few feet away. She can stir up trouble anywhere she plants herself. She appears to behave like a Borderline with her splitting people up and pitting them against each other.

BBM :) ITA

Wasn't it also Misty who said that attorneys are for guilty people?

If the truth has been told by these two (rc & mc) then they should have nothing to hide, right?

Ron has been accused of a crime, the TC incident, so he obviously will need a criminal attorney. imo.

The Defense Attorney he hired is representing him in the Haleigh case. The beheading of the rat and placement in Tommy's case has not been what Shoemaker has been discussing. He attends shows and speaks for him regarding Haleigh. He went with him to LE when RC was asked to explain the phone calls. HE also got a high profile one and now he can use him to stay out of jail (again) for interfering and harassing a witness.

He could hire a public defender for "putting a rat in a mailbox". He didn't he hired a Criminal Defense Attorney to protect him from scrutiny by the public and LE. Let's call a spade a spade here.

I think this case is in the stages of wait and see. I think Misty planed on coming back to Satsuma all alone. She got out of Dodge long enough to let things cool and now she is back and I won't be surprised if her and Ron get back together. We haven't see any evidence Ron is dating another woman, only rumors and maybe that was the plan. I am sure LE will be watching Misty for a long time.... They are not going to let the "key" out of their site.

Just throwing stuff out again...

Misty's big stress factor was she was living with Ron and babysitting the kids to begin with. But she had been homeless and going back home was not a great option as Mom and Dad and Tommy were doing drugs and Tommy according her mess with her. So making her self invaluable to Ron as in care taker for the kids and now lover, secured her place with him and gave her a more stable home. To Misty this was a secure place to be, with Ron and his family and kids. Now she decides to really secure things by saying she is pregnant, but Ron blows up, not the response she expected. So she goes on this party weekend and really jeopardizes the security. But Ron takes her back, because he needs her to continue to be the care taker of his kids. Knowing that, Misty would be a fool to sell of one of them or give them up to a SO because she is on shaky ground as it is. One less kid to take care of, means one less reason for her to be around. So the stress for her that weekend was to secure her place in the home again with Ron and the kids. She had to know Ron would find out she had been sleeping around and that would be grounds for him to get rid of her. Even with all this going on, she still pushes the envelope with another fight over babysitting or (x) and further jeopardizes the security and need to keep her there. Why?

Could Misty have just had a melt down with Haleigh over bed wetting or a crying tantrum and went too far? She had to have help that night, if she is the person who did this. She didn't have a car, so who would she have called to help her? I don' think Tommy or Jo, because she threw them both under the bus.

Maybe Ron did marry her to just escape jail time for underage sex. Lisa says she wanted Misty to wait until she was 18 to get married but she signed the papers because people were trashing them. Is this a woman who would care what people say? She let her daughter quit school in the 6th grade, she allowed her to be homeless because of the situation at home. So why is she worried about Misty being 18 to get married when this would have given her daughter a roof over her head and food on the table?

Bern, thanks. Trying to think like them is so hard! M aybe he did marry her for the underage sex thing, paranoid but not a happy camper getting the license or at the wedding. Misty killing her by going to far sounds like it could happen except I think Ron would have figured that out fast.

I'm excited for Misty's birthday. Once she's 18, she'll be booked at PCSO just like every other adult........should she choose to follow in her family's footsteps.

Thirteen more days...

I personally don't get excited to see anyone fail, get into trouble and ruin their lives, especially young ones that are entering into adulthood. They need love, support and guidance. I hope Misty succeeds, makes good choices, and continues to hang around to help if the investigation so needs her assistance. The better Misty does, the more hope I have that it will benefit Haleigh in someway. Hoping for Haleigh's Holiday miracle and shining of Light into this World once again.

No offense, but imo, that's sad. To be excited about someone's birthday so they can be booked as an adult if the commit a crime. Looking at what she came from I can't believe she made it to 18. What a horrible, insecure childhood she must have had. Kinda like Tommy's kids are having now. It's all around a sad situation, imo.

Its no more sad than what I've seen people wishing for the mother of a missing child.

The fact is, just a few weeks ago, Misty was jumped in a parking lot where her friend said she was to buy drugs. It isn't a matter of glee. It is a matter of inevitability.

I haven't seen anyone here wish anything horrible on Crystal. I have seen people wish she would go to rehab to get off drugs and try to better herself for her children's sake. Where did you read these bad wishes?

ETA: I think it was the use of the word "excited" that conveyed "glee" instead of inevitability. imo.

IMO, they all had very sad childhoods, but normal for them. Crystal, Ron, Misty, all had parents who did not take care of them. They were the same as Jr. and Haleigh and are grown up now repeating what their parents did by lack of maturity, drugs and poor role models. All arround sad.
The Birthday thing with Misty is for some of us the hope that LE will "talk Turkey" and stop letting her play games and maybe arrest her if she keeps lying. LE knows she knows.

Ah, I can say with absolute sincerity that no one, not anyone on this board that I know of would wish anyone anything but love, support and guidance their entire lives. But, there is one thing more we wish for and that is justice.
Our Father in Heaven wishes the very best for us, but he has designed our life to be one of choices and responsibility for our benefit. In this way we are able to learn and repent and try again. I pray that evil will stumble again and again and that justice will triump over everything that tries to stand in its way.

Hi Flossie, I actually think I posted this information in RC's thread, I can't remember now, but, this information was discussed on Nancy Grace around the first week in September.

Here it is: http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0909/08/ng.01.html

snip~GRACE: OK. Got it. Do we know about the phone calls made between Misty Croslin and the brother when Haleigh goes missing?

SCHIAVO: We know that phone records show that she called her brother, but the police won`t say what those conversations were about.

GRACE: OK. Marlaina, did she call the brother before the 911 call?

SCHIAVO: Yes, she did.

GRACE: OK. Let`s unleash the lawyers, Gloria Allred, victims` rights advocate out of LA, Raymond Giudice, defense attorney Atlanta, Alex Sanchez, defense attorney New York.

Gloria, she calls him before she calls 911? ~end

elle, thanks so much for bringing this information forward. A call to her brother BEFORE the 911 call brings about so many questions. Why did she call, when did she call, and for someone who had their phone turned off, what was the importance of this call that caused her to turn on the phone service again. It must have been very crucial for her to reach him. If we had answers on this call, I think we could connect the dots and get closer to what really happened. Your input is appreciated.

Reads to me like people are saying JO or TC committed the crime. I assume they mean kidnapping Haleigh and perhaps murdering her.

They attribute this synopsis to Guns and Drugs....correct? How does RC and Misty fit into this reasoning?

As usual, Whisperer, your questions are valid. I too have problems with Haleigh being part of a gun or drug theft or a payback. I'm not a thief, but I would think if you're breaking in to take something specific like a gun or drugs, the last thing you'd want is to take a child along. Unless of course, Haleigh woke up and saw the two of them and could identify them. Then yes, maybe that would be a reason to take her along. But that's a long shot to me.
But your question about Ron and Misty's involvement cancels out JO and TC being involved. I would think that if Ron suspected these two, he wouldn't just be on the air pleading for his child's return, he'd be strapping on his gun and on the road to get to these two guys.
Your posts always have me thinking and trying to reason what the heck happened to little Haleigh.

This was a very early story. Did LE issue a written statement or hold a press conference? Did Greenwood speak in a formal setting or at the scene of the search, just giving the gist of the story to the reporter? Did the reporter get it wrong, or did LE just put out a bare bones story in order not to disrupt the investigation? There is no way to answer any of those question. It would seem, from the thrust of the article, that there was initially some concern or hope that Haleigh had wandered off, which is standard for most cases where there is no evidence of abduction or murder.

What is true is that reporting generally gets better as any event moves beyond the initial stage; look at how the death tolls from 9/11 took months to resolve themselves. But we all know that LE withholds facts, plays certain things down and other up in order to manipulate persons of interest, etc. And LE can never tell us what they don't know; if someone disappears and LE says "there is no evidence of foul play," that doesn't mean the person wasn't abducted or murdered. It just means "there is no evidence of foul play." It also doesn't mean that LE isn't examining the whole range of possibilities, from the beginning. Or at least they should be.

So glad for your post Pitts.
You and I are aware that the press reports only on what is given them. Early on the facts of a case can be quite confusing and bare bones. I can see that a single officer at the scene would comment on what appears to be the facts at the time - too early for all the facts to be gathered and solid.
Good points.
