It is corrupt if they named a source and the info was not accurate. LE do not routinely pull stories out of their hat. Greenwood either got the information from one of the people involved or the paper is making up what Greenwood said. I cannot imagine a Lt. in the LE not verifying the fact before he put it out there.

Having been on the other end of a notebook, reporting fresh from the scene, I can believe an officer will give incomplete or wrong information about what's ocurred. They sum up what seems to be the case before gathering all the witness statements or LE reports. It's happened to me. A reporter relies on what's reported from officials and witnesses at that moment. That's why follow-up stories are so important. As the case developes, so do the articles and reports that follow.
LE is suppose to be cautious when they arrive on the scene. What they report to the press should be prefaced with "At this time it appears...".
The reporter needs to stress in the article what time frame these comments were given. Many times an editor might hold back an initial article until more solid fact are available. But deadlines or the importance of the case can hamper that decision. A missing child story would rank in importance to get it out to the reading public.
I guess I'm just defending my former profession. We're only as good as our sources and our ability to confirm when it comes to reporting. Sigh!

I'm excited for Misty's birthday. Once she's 18, she'll be booked at PCSO just like every other adult........should she choose to follow in her family's footsteps.

Me too debs. I'm sending Misty a Monopoly Game as a birthday gift so she can use the "Get out of Jail Free" card.
If only we could be assured that her turning 18 would make a hugh difference for Haleigh's fate.

Why would turning 18 make any difference?

Because after she is 18, if she falls on the wrong side of the law, it will become a public record. Because then LE can question her with different rules. The rules of questioning a minor are more stringent. I do not believe this means that at 18, LE can pull her in off the street and talk to her, but it certainly allows them, IF they're given a chance, IF she messes up, to be questioned, just like her father and brother. That is, IF she doesn't pull in a lawyer. I guess we'll all just wait and see if Misty will set a new trend for her family to follow and stay out of trouble.

Did I just hear on NG that NayNay has moved in with Misty and her family?

Yes, I heard the same thing...that mobile home where Misty and her extended family are saying has 2br and is 1260 sq feet...it's gotta be a ticking time bomb...MOO

On the other hand it makes it easy for LE to keep an eye on everyone. It's going to be a lot harder for them to get the drugs now also. No one is going to want to bring drugs to the home and if one of the clan goes out they will be watched.

Do you know exactly how many people, children and adults, are living there? It's got to be difficult to turn around in that home.

I'm not HH but I can answer that!
NayNay, Misty, Hank, Lisa, Tommy, Lindsy and Tommy's 3 children.

I'll bet there's lots of sleeping on the couches and blow up mattresses. Maybe they've even extended out onto the built in porches that I saw mentioned somewhere.

Just throwing stuff out again...

Misty's big stress factor was she was living with Ron and babysitting the kids to begin with. But she had been homeless and going back home was not a great option as Mom and Dad and Tommy were doing drugs and Tommy according her mess with her. So making her self invaluable to Ron as in care taker for the kids and now lover, secured her place with him and gave her a more stable home. To Misty this was a secure place to be, with Ron and his family and kids. Now she decides to really secure things by saying she is pregnant, but Ron blows up, not the response she expected. So she goes on this party weekend and really jeopardizes the security. But Ron takes her back, because he needs her to continue to be the care taker of his kids. Knowing that, Misty would be a fool to sell of one of them or give them up to a SO because she is on shaky ground as it is. One less kid to take care of, means one less reason for her to be around. So the stress for her that weekend was to secure her place in the home again with Ron and the kids. She had to know Ron would find out she had been sleeping around and that would be grounds for him to get rid of her. Even with all this going on, she still pushes the envelope with another fight over babysitting or (x) and further jeopardizes the security and need to keep her there. Why?

Could Misty have just had a melt down with Haleigh over bed wetting or a crying tantrum and went too far? She had to have help that night, if she is the person who did this. She didn't have a car, so who would she have called to help her? I don' think Tommy or Jo, because she threw them both under the bus.

Maybe Ron did marry her to just escape jail time for underage sex. Lisa says she wanted Misty to wait until she was 18 to get married but she signed the papers because people were trashing them. Is this a woman who would care what people say? She let her daughter quit school in the 6th grade, she allowed her to be homeless because of the situation at home. So why is she worried about Misty being 18 to get married when this would have given her daughter a roof over her head and food on the table?

Sorry to quote the whole post, but I don't know how to just do a sentence. If I'm remembering right, Ron already knew what went on that weekend. WBG told in an interview that Misty was telling Ron over the phone that she had used a condom. If I'm mistaken about who heard her, hopefully someone will correct this, but I've felt that all this along with the fake pregnancy test was some sort of mind games.

My delusional self thinks and feels there is a method behind ALL the madness concerning the Croslins.....but thats just my opinion..

No, it was said that he told her to bring a condom. Guess he didn't want another pregnancy scare w/ her.

So even if Ron did know wouldn't she still be afraid she could be out on her ear for that weekend once he found someone else to watch those kids? The condom remark was to add salt to the wounds.... yes, her scam didn't work, he didn't agree to marry her; instead he threw her out. Misty is about survival. Knowing what we know now, I am trying to see how this was all playing out for them. Ron didn't want to marry her, that is clear, yet he does. Why? To avoid jail or was it some other sort of blackmail in his mind? I am leaning he married her to avoid jail time for underage sex. He didn't marry CS or Amber for the kids sake, what made Misty think that was going to happen for her, if she was pregnant?

Good points thank you!

Do you mean LE? They are committing crimes, so they are entitled to put them up at the Gray Bar. We don't know a lot about the Croslins before Haleigh went missing, I am inclined to believe this is just normal behavior for them, but with Haleigh gone it sheds light on the family as never before. Misty is a real survivalist, she would rather be homeless in the past as a child than live there. But now she is living with them again and that has got to feel like she is trapped.

There is a very nice screened porch...... I think some could be sleeping out there. And don't forget the trampoline....that would make a nice Aero-bed.

Happy Thanksgiving to Everybody!

Haleigh you will be missed at the table this year with ALL of your family. May God give us all a reason to be thankful.

I think Misty is right where she is choosing to be....she chose to lift the RO on Tommy--could go to her grandmother's in TN, per AH....Lisa, Tommy and now Hank all have legal issues hanging over their heads and pretty much have to stay around...and Lindsy is just finishing school...but Misty is free to go wherever she wants...IMO

I logged onto one of our local community service websites and they offer unemployed woman an apartment if they are willing to attend counselling services and volunteer at the agency once a week. The candidate must be referred by a professional. Our city also initiated a program this past fall to provide accommodations to homeless people.

I am disturbed that Misty is(was) homeless and no support has been offered to her by local community service organizations. I really don't like that Ron was comfortable leaving her without a place to stay until the RO was lifted and she could return to her family after they divorced. I think if Ron had a heart, he, should have used some of his resources to pay for her accommodations elsewhere until she could return to her parents.
