Can you please show in that article where it says he didn’t have his permit on him? I read it twice and never saw anything that said that. You stated it like it was a fact.

Edit, I apologize, I did see the quote in the article about him not having ID.
"DHS added that the suspect had two magazines on him, no identification, " You have to carry ID and the permit under MRS 624.714

It doesn't make the carry unlawful, though.

Did you check what the penalty for not carry ID/the permit, btw?

I've just watched a video where they mention that very point.

Firstly, it's irrelevant because they weren't tackling him because he was armed as they didn't know what he was until they had pepper sprayed him and beaten the crap out of him.

Secondly, yes, it's a requirement to carry ID when you are carrying a gun. Do you know what the penalty for that is in MN? I'll let you look it up for yourself - as a clue, it's not summary execution by the side of the road!

And, from what I understand, not having ID doesn't make the carry unlawful. The offence is one of not having ID, not unlawful carry!
It is a misdemeanor under 624.714.

Neither one of these fatal shootings would have happened if police had been on scene to help with crowd control.
So now it’s the local MPD’s fault that ICE is shooting citizens in the street 10 times in the back and 3-4 times into their open car windows? You stated that as a fact, I do not agree with that. When does ICE get to be held responsible for their own actions?

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, a Democrat, said he understood the risk of people trying to bear witness and document the actions of federal agents.

"Thank God, thank God, we have video because, according to DHS, these seven heroic guys took an onslaught of a battalion against them or something. It's nonsense, people. It is nonsense, and it's lies."

It’s a $25 fine, which they wave if you bring your current conceal carry ID down to the station with the violation.

In effect, nothing, then. Yet ICE decided that they get to choose summary execution instead!

Not sure what your comment is meant to achieve. Are you saying Alex Pretti was executed justifiably?

Also ICE is immigration enforcement, they have nothing to do with gun permitting or making sure US citizens are carrying with proper documentation. So seems like they may have overstepped their duties there, to put it lightly.

I didn't say it was MPD's fault. But there is no question that the Mayor could be making these situations safer and is choosing to not do so.

Boy, lots of people want to put words in my mouth this morning I guess. I am pointing out that Pretti was not in fact legally carrying that morning. Nothing more.

SBM

Here is the article from representatives of the U.S. Holocaust Museum and why they find it inappropriate.

I read it and I think you could replace the work 'Jewish' with 'brown' and here we are.

I would argue Trump, DHS could make this safer. Wonder why they aren't?

that’s your opinion and you are free to think that. I think that the safest thing for Minnesotans would be to not have 3000 (poorly trained) Federal agents invade and occupy their city. IMO.

Or to not have so many illegal immigrants in the area.

Can you point to the piece of legislation that demonstrates that he was not legally carrying, please?

To me, it seems like that only law he may have broken (if you believe the Feds) was failing to carry a piece of plastic. They haven't demonstrated that not doing that made his carry of the gun unlawful.

Do you admit that ICE does indeed have the authority to apprehend illegal immigrants in the area?

Again, gun experts from MN have already settled this, he was carrying legally.
I disagree. Was he carrying ID and his permit? If not, he was not carrying legally.
