Yes. We see two instances with Pretti interacting with federal officers. In both instances there is physical contact. Pretti is tackled to the ground after he places himself between an officer and the woman in the white coat (see screenshot). Officers discover that he has a gun, and from that point on the officers don't seem to know what to do, so they start shooting.

There are so many problems. The federal officers are unprofessional and unable to handle civilian altercations. The federal government immediately presented a false narrative about the events.

I can't imagine a scenario where I would think it wise to holster my Glock 19, strap an extra magazine or 2 on my belt, have foreknowledge of the time and location of Federal agent activity for a given day, arrive on scene, and insert myself into the situation such that I find myself face to face with armed Federal agents.

Again, the federal agents did not know he had a gun as he never touched it. He never pushed the agents, he never hit them. He never threatened them or had any violent behavior. Ever.

Minnesota governor Tim Walz has appealed to Donald Trump to withdraw federal agents from Minnesota, a day after US border patrol officers shot and killed Alex Pretti.

“What’s the plan, Donald Trump?” Walz asked at a news conference on Sunday. “What do we need to do to get these federal agents out of our state?

“President Trump, you can end this today. Pull these folks back; do humane, focused, effective immigration control – you’ve got the support of all of us to do that,” Walz said. “Please show some decency. Pull these folks out”.

Walz offered an impassioned plea to the US public, many of whom have been caught between supporting immigration control and opposing actions of its enforcement under the Trump administration in the interior.

Walz said that even if the public once sided with ICE operations, the time had come to oppose them. “Which side do you want to be on?” he asked.

I'm just listening to this (haven't finished) but Bovino starts by talking about 'choices'. He says that it's a 'choice' to use terms like kidnapping. He says that it's a choice to listen to other government officials, journalists and community leaders. And there are consequences and implications for listening to those people. (What??)

Really? Aren't we free to listen to all people speaking so we can come up with an informed decision? His comments come across to me (my opinion) as a threat and that we are only to listen to the federal government.

He also lumps all law enforcement in the same bucket saying that people who speak out against ICE/CBP are against all law enforcement. Clearly that's not true. MPD doesn't even support ICE/CBP. The locals don't have a problem with the police. They have a problem with some of the feds. (Even FBI are being stunted in what they can do.)

Minnesota prisons say that federal agents are giving 'inaccurate information' about man they were seeking​

The Minnesota Department of Corrections (DOC) has rebutted some of the claims made by Border Patrol Commander Greg Bovino and other federal officials when Alex Pretti was shot.

Bovino has said that immigration enforcement agents were seeking Jose Huerta Chuma during their "targeted" operation, and that Chuma's criminal history includes domestic assault, intentional infliction of bodily harm and disorderly conduct.

The DOC in a statement says federal statements "have repeatedly included inaccurate information about Minnesota custody and criminal records", prompting them to review available records to determine whether Chuma had any connection to Minnesota state prison custody.

Per the statement, the Minnesota DOC says:

• The individual identified by federal officials has never been in Minnesota DOC custody
• DOC and court records show no felony commitments associated with this
• Public Minnesota court records reflect only misdemeanor-level traffic offenses from more than a decade ago
• The individual is not currently under DOC supervision.

The DOC adds that their records also indicate the Huerta was previously held in federal immigration custody in a local Minnesota jail in 2018, noting that this was during President Trump’s first administration.

"Any decisions regarding release from federal custody at that time would have been made by federal authorities. DOC has no information explaining why this individual was released," the statement says.

The DOC also pushed back on allegations that it does not cooperate with ICE to facilitate custody transfers for individuals subject to federal detainers.

"The inaccurate assertions of these high-level ICE officials are untrue, reckless, and contrary to longstanding practice," the DOC says.

I'm pretty sure the MPD would have had that figured out long ago. Perhaps they could assist? No? Why not?
My opinion is that the feds don't want a real investigation and they want to be free to do what they want even if it doesn't fit the law.

Indeed. There are what appears to be confrontations between Pretti and and more than one ICE agent, and more than one ICE agent interacts with Pretti. Pretti appears to place himself close to ICE agents on at least two separate occasions. There is physical contact on two occasions. He is described as an "observer" with a camera.

What were the ICE agents doing there? ICE agents were not operating independently. Someone hired them to go there and do that job. That is where the problem lies, not with the individual agents. The protests should be with the person making the decisions, not the person carrying them out ... in my opinion.

Respectfully, I don’t believe there is any means at this point to indicate with any certainty: “That is where the problem lies, not with the individual agents.’

IMO no one is above being considered as having been a factor that contributed to this individual’s death. And I hope that both MN officials and federal officials fully investigate any and all. And completely and without pre-judgement or bias. MOO

It appears that Pretti had a conversation with the ICE officers earlier, and then he was in the middle of an ICE officer shoving the woman in the white coat.

Just want to point out that these weren't ICE agents. They were Border Control agents. Not that it matters that much as now they are all following the same 'agenda' ..... i.e. all potential immigrants (largely based on skin color) are likely criminals and therefore should be detained (grabbed) without any warrant or evidence. Same playbook in my measly opinion.

There have been many documented cases where people were detained and then let go as there was no evidence they broke the law. (One recent example is the elderly Hmong gentleman who was taken out of his home in the dead of winter in his underwear and just a blanket over his shoulders. He was later released. Why did they treat him like that??)

Wow, that is disturbing.

But he is perversely half right.

It is a choice to use the words we feel describe what we see.

And, he is wrong when he implies that exercising that right is interfering with LE.

Nobody interfered with his agents. They took their eye off their suspect.

The man they were trying to arrest, that Bovino is soooo distressed is still at large, was trapped in a locked donut shop. All agents had to do was watch the exits of the place while going to court to get a warrant.

How did he get away? It was the behavior of Bovino's incompetent agents that caused him to get away. They got distracted by a few cameras.

• Trump again accused Minnesota officials of being involved in "a criminal cover up" stemming from a financial fraud investigation in the state, without presenting evidence. White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt has said "Walz wants chaos"
• Tributes for Pretti, along with demonstrations and protests, have resumed in Minneapolis. Our reporters there say the protests have been peaceful despite earlier clashes

I think there is so much fear in US citizens now that this honestly doesn't surprise me. He was legally allowed to carry it. Doesn't mean he had an intention to use it but maybe he was feeling unsafe? I don't think that is surprising giving what we are seeing on the streets.

I also think we are seeing a clash of belief systems/ideology for some people - the right to carry and the right to be armed, freedoms as US citizens, etc. Yet these very rights are being used by the government/ICE to justify shooting a protester and other IMO heavy handed tactics from clearly ill-trained groups of masked and armed individuals in US communities.

This must be really hard for those who have been supporting Trump to reconcile. 2 possibly strongly held beliefs are in contradiction. This is the time when you may see more people start to question and reflect on what is most important to them.

This isn't a war happening against another country, this is US citizens right in the middle of it. Similar to what we see in other countries who are at war. Civilians caught up in what the government is implementing, regardless of whether you support ICE or not.

Thanks for posting what most of us have seen numerous times by now across all platforms. The vids and pics are really pretty straightforward.

Simply : The victim was off to the side of the road helping a woman who had been pushed randomly by ICE as ICE walked by. He was helping her get up.
ICE pushed/grabbed him and then piled on him while he was face down on the side of the road and pummeled him. Then shot him.

The question I have had for a while as I watch all the videos posted by onlookers since Good was shot - is why is ICE randomly pushing people down on the ground ?
This is a public street/sidewalk. If people want to film and walk and whatever it's LEGAL. Others are driving by in their cars. There was no blockade. The victim was shot on the ground in broad daylight across the street from an open and operating doughnut shop in a retail area before lunchtime where people were coming and going.

I also saw this pushing people over by ICE, over by ICE HQ. ICE entered a peaceful crowd and started doing just that - pushing people over.

The National Guard I saw is now giving out donuts and coffee to people protesting over by that HQ - interesting juxaposition.

Probably a good solution would be to disarm ICE. They have their tear gas, pepper spray, stun guns and car window smashers. IMO that should be more than enough. They are not really trained IMO to have firearms around the public.
