Unfortunately? If he had both hands flat on the ground, then it was vidible he did not have a gun in them. So if the agents panicked and started shooting blindly, which would mean they were both egregiously incompetent and unsuited for their job.

So that's your theory here? Seven men uncapable to restrain one dude who got pepper sprayed and whacked with the canister, two of them so nervous they start to shoot in that melee because someone yelled "gun"?
That's... That's not how trained, professional LE officers should ever behave.

Pinning a lawful protestor to the ground, punching him repeatedly in the face, then shooting him until he is dead is not an “unfortunate escalation”. It’s murder by the State. There is literally nothing Pretti did that warranted being executed.

Strictly in my personal opinion; people who vociferously supported the current administration into power, and who strictly adhere to its teachings, seem to be simply incapable of accepting when the regime stops playing by the normal rules of human decency. They seem to scrabble around for any excuse as to why something was justified and claim certain things as facts when they clearly and obviously are not.

The statement that AP approached ICE officers with a gun is disingenuous at best. The statement gives the impression that the gun was visible and that his intention was to make it known that he had a gun.

The statement that he "brandished" his firearm was, and will always be, an outright lie. He did nothing of the sort and it is obvious from every video that he did not.

The statement that he intended to "massacre" Federal Agents is also clearly a lie. If he wanted to do that he would just have started shooting.

The statement that he was a "domestic terrorist" is also obviously a lie. He was nothing of the sort.

For the record; I don't really believe that some people actually believe that the video shows something different to what it factually shows. It's no different to all the other daft conspiracy theories, in that people just cannot accept that something has happened, usually something which absolutely rocks their belief system, so have to invent ridiculous rubbish to try to deny it to themselves.

what he was doing, was purposefully bringing a gun to a dangerous fed op repeatedly, and provoking and inviting harm onto himself, because he felt a sense of martyrdom. he rehearsed violating laws and putting the public in danger, until he finally got what he wanted.

I believe that the rule for psychiatrists is to never offer comments about psychiatric condition unless one has examined the client themselves? Do we even have any knowledge that Mr. Pretti had psychiatric diagnosis? Where does the assumption come from?

Do we have any information coming from Mr. Pretti’s behavior that even hints at his suicidality?

He was divorced, had a family, had many friends, a new car. He lost his dog a year ago but usually people mourn and with time, adopt a new one. Not when ICE is attacking one’s city.

To me, Mr. Pretti’s behavior is the normal one for a person whose city has become the unwilling host to masked border patrol agents.

I, on the other hand, have my questions about Mr. Bovino based on the articles from good sources but I doubt that any psychiatrist has met him in person.

Even if he wasn't then if his hands were on the ground he was absolutely 100% zero threat to anyone.

That's how totalitary system works. Arresting people they dislike, because they can. As Andrey Wyshynski, infamous Soviet prosecutor said "give me a man and I'll find a law to lock him".

One thing about Wyshynski. He himself came from a gentry family (“a class enemy” in the USSR who didn’t even need a law to shoot him on the spot) + the member of the “Menshevik” branch of the communist party (“an ideological enemy”). Such people serve their masters the best. Out of fear.

Just one observation.

I had a FB friend that I could not put my finger on well. Definitely smart. On his FB, all 2A and guns. Antivaxxer even after he spend time in ICU for Covid. Demanded all antiviral meds at that time.

Now, of course, anti-Pretti

Maybe COVID behavior explains something? As I said to him, “yes, MRNA vaccine, yes, we don’t know, ten years from now. But it offers you to survive for these ten years!”

Is this a certain type of thinking when a person reaches certain level of knowledge and then, be it due to mental laziness or something else, people draw the line in the sand and say, no more?
