Found Safe MN - Ava Whitfield, 10, driving a car, Fridley, 30 Mar 2021

I agree, if it wasn't for the whole illegal thing, I have to say I'm impressed. She is obviously an ambitious, confident young lady. Let's turn all that into something legal and useful. Glad you're home safe Ava.
I secretly wanted to give her an atta girl for the confidence too. But was scared at the same time.

wow so thankful she didn't get hurt or crash the vehicle into someone else
yes, channel that energy and resourcefulness and she could have a bright future

and if they don’t channel it, look out, mom is going to have a very trying teenager on her hands in a few years.

WOW. So glad she's safe, but girl - never do that again! As a mother of a ten-year-old, I'm just trying to wrap my brain around this. I know all children are different, but I can't imagine. What a story. Maybe she can write a book about it while she's grounded for an eternity?

This kid is extremely lucky that she didn’t hurt anyone or herself. She’s also a very clever child, with solid hand/eye coordination skills to boot. I hope her family channels these qualities in the right direction. Heck of a college application essay too.

It occurred to me that with modern navigation aids, many cars aren't that hard to drive. Our Subaru practically drives itself--lane guidance and correction if you stray, collision warnings on all sides, speed controls, etc. Since she's tall enough to reach the wheel and the pedals, and see clearly, she might have gotten the hang of it pretty quickly.

And I hope my grandson does not ever hear about this event. He's already far too interested in driving things!
