Bumping. I just came across this case searching something else and read it for the first time. This seems like it would be an easy one to solve with DNA and genealogy. JMO.
I'm wondering if he could be my missing uncle. Kevin born in 1958. Lived in Minnesota in 1997 as last known address (not 100% sure). He was last seen in July 1989. Brown hair, blue eyes.
:bump:
This case is now on Namus: The National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs)
One ruleout so far:
Randolph Brookshire
Honestly, a year later, I'm questioning whether an identification has been made. His NamUs is still up and no announcement has been made by the investigators - which isn't too surprising as that's not always the case. I am reaching out to the individual who created his NamUs page to see if this is a solved case or not.

There was another case I just saw yesterday where the doe network closed the case and marked someone as identified and yet they were still in Namus. I believe after a year or so it was confirmed that it wasn’t a match and the doe network had to change and rectify this decision. I wonder if the same thing has happened here?
