Can someone who's been on WS longer please clarify how we are supposed to discuss a case with linked sources when LE isn't giving updates? I want to observe website rules, but I can't link a source if the source is not giving updates.

For example, since I live in the area, if I go in person myself to take photos of the area he walked into, I obviously can't link them from a news source because they are photos I took myself. But wouldn't they be of value to the forum to give context to those outside of Minnesota of what the terrain looks like, how easy it would be for someone to get lost there in the dark, whether the lake is water or mud, etc? Thanks in advance.

you can post your own photos and ID them as yours- people have done that in other cases

Borca was last heard from as he Facetimed friends while walking alone in the early morning of Oct. 30.

Family is being updated I’m sure…general public and community is not. Not sure why…family request? Most other cases seem to have regular updates or are on the news. IMO, a simply daily update by Eagan PD, that they are still searching, would benefit everyone who is devastated for this kid/family.

Do we know for sure the family is being updated or are we assuming? In my experience, whenever I have been the victim of a crime, or during the instance when I reported a loved one missing, I had to request updates from LE. They did not reach out to me proactively.

I have read multiple posts on the Eagan PD site saying family is being updated regularly and they choose who to share that with. Although I can’t link to that directly.

The Eagan police themselves have posted this? Because I check their FB page regularly and I haven't seen an update like that. I am on the page now and do not see it.

If it's another random person saying the family is being updated, I would take that with a grain of salt. JMO.

Sure would be nice if LE would do a daily update like you said, so the public isn't left to speculate or rely on unconfirmed comments on FB pages. JMO

Exactly. Many people have posted and even asked LE to confirm something, and I have seen no responses.

Said about all I can say. Know the area well. Many times biked the unpaved trail next to the river. Know the businesses are working businesses. Know there are holding ponds and Gun Club Lake. Land area has been searched. Not there. Don't think he made it as far as the river. Might have followed the RR tracks. Don't think anyone would pick up a stranger that hour of the morning. IMO he was gone soon after he entered the remote area behind businesses. Finally, I, too, am mystified with no progress and no information from either family or LE. Am also mystified as to why help is not a priority. Not much more to say.

I have been heartbroken for nearly 2 weeks about this. He is my son’s age…could have just as easily been him. We have all just been repeating the same details and thoughts on this, due to lack of ongoing updates. I’m out of ideas, but unable to give up. Going out to look tomorrow with a friend.

I somehow wonder if Eagan PD or family/close friends are patrolling that site and shutting down posts they don’t want the public to see.

I have also heard there is some homeless encampment not far from that industrial area/13. No idea where it is, but wonder if LE has checked that out if they know where it is.

IMO, there are too many crazy people out there to rule out anything. Could have easily been picked up by someone if he made it back to 13.

IMO, there are too many crazy people out there to rule out anything. Could have easily been picked up by someone if he made it back to 13.

this is a very concerning thought. i would hate to think some stranger would harm him but anything is possible.

it’s going to snow tonight in eagan, according to at least one weather report i’ve read. i saw flakes earlier when i was driving on cliff road. hopefully it doesn’t hamper search efforts.

I hate to go there too, but I don’t trust that everyone is nice and helpful anymore…even in the suburbs. Too many shootings, abductions, break ins, etc. all over. Look at Jayme Closs in the tiny town of Barron WI a few years back.
Maybe by going there, it also gives me some tiny hope that he is still alive.
Doesn’t look like snow tomorrow, so hopefully people can get out there and look.
