MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) —*Authorities in the south metro say human remains were found this weekend near the Minnesota River.

The Dakota County Sheriff’s Office said Sunday evening that a passer-by noticed a body at the edge of the water, near the intersection of Interstate 35W and Black Dog Road in Burnsville.

KSTP reports*the body was badly decomposed and had been there a long time, but investigators are treating it as a suspicious death.
