Charges dropped in case of man who tossed child off waterslide

The child was thrown to the pavement 30 feet below, suffering serious injuries.

.

HASTINGS, Minn. — Criminal charges have been dropped against a 20-year-old Maple Grove man accused of throwing a young boy off a waterslide to the concrete 30 feet below, leaving the child badly injured.

In court documents filed in mid-May, acting Dakota County Attorney Kathryn Keena dismisses the charge of third-degree assault against Roman Alexander Adams, who has what is described by his attorney as "severe autism."

This is something like the case of the young man who threw the child off the roof in London. He got away from his carers.

He obviously needs more supervision than his aide gave him.

A very difficult situation for all involved, not the least of whom is the poor child thrown 30 feet to the pavement below the slide. It's a miracle that he survived. I hope and pray that sooner, rather than later, a breakthrough is made in research on and the treatment of autism.
