I am having a few doubts about the veracity of the link I posted above, can't say why but just a feeling it might be a spoof. It just seems so exaggerated coupled with lack of any collateral information on the person involved apart from this alleged 'news' story. Just saying..

It's not a spoof. Sabrina Corgatelli is Aaron Neilson's girlfriend. Neilson is well known in the "hunting community" and has killed many lions and other big game. He has his own TV hunting show too.

this is getting out if hand....people don't get this outraged over humans being killed. Zimbabwe has many more issues, Cecil is at the very bottom of the list. I saw an article where people are vandalizing his vacation home...that doesn't even happen to child rapists and murderers of human beings... Sad and pathetic. If the lion didn't have a name, 90% of people would not care...I doubt most of them think at all about the hunting and poaching industry in Africa.

Teghan Skiba was tortured for more than 40 hours and her case didn't get any coverage outside of the local area and very little outrage. Many comments were telling the media to stop reporting on the case. No one is ruining the lives of her mother or killer's parents who one could argue had some responsibility. People do not care about both. Tell people who are crying about a lion about Teghan and their reaction won't be anywhere near as emotional. After all we have people who brag about how they care more about an animal in a movie dying then humans in real life dying and this is considered an acceptable thing to say...it's gross.

Remember kony? Or bring back our girls? Just another example of the Internet outrage machine...

Well, I guess if you think humans are the only ones who are important, then you don't care about animals going extinct.
We might have a planet populated by humans only in some not so distant future (except for rats and roaches).
I guess some people just don't care about anything else.
Humans are not in any danger of going extinct any time soon (unless we destroy the planet) while animals like lions are.
So please pardon me if I care.

Not true. Cecil's death has prompted inactive activists like me to recommit to groups like Greenpeace and the World Wildlife Fund. Just today I had two friends sign a petition to put lions on the endangered species list... Look at the action Delta airlines has taken in light of Cecil's death.
As I put in my signature- cruelty to humans starts with cruelty to animals.

A lot of people, especially posters here on WS, DO get outraged when humans get murdered and go missing! A whole lot of people in this world care about poaching and humans at the same time! Maybe expand your horizons a bit?

He was settled sexual harassment allegations by a former employee who was also a patient, in 2009, according to documents from the Minnesota Board of Dentistry. He settled a corrective action with the board and his insurer paid $127,500 to his accuser.

The woman said “she was subjected to ongoing and unwelcome sexual harassment by (Palmer) including, but not limited to, verbal comments and physical conduct involving her breasts, buttocks, and genitalia.”

She said she told Palmer and her supervisor that she wanted his behavior to stop, but he “failed to cease his harassing conduct.” She also said “she believed (Palmer) terminated her employment in retaliation for reporting the conduct."

What do organizations to combat other issues have to do with people writing negative yelp reviews yet won't think about Cecil or animals going extinct in a week?
