Police found her mother's body Saturday morning inside their Northfield apartment. Investigators believe she died by suicide.

Investigators are attempting to piece together a timeline they hope can lead them to where Elle's mom, Lisa Wade, was in the past two weeks.

What they do know is no one had seen Elle or her mom since then and they believe the six-year-old

Those who lived near the little girl and her mother in Northfield came home to a crime scene with roads taped off since 39-year-old Wade was found Saturday morning.

"That's a terrible thing to happen," Northfield resident Kyle LaFontaine said.

LaFontaine's girlfriend's sister lives in the townhomes.

"She told me we've seen that kid out here multiple times playing and stuff while we are over visiting her sister and saw the mom too, we would have never expected that," LaFontaine said.

Olamza lives across the street from where Elle's mother was found, but said she didn't notice anything out of the ordinary the past few days.

FWIW, many of those commenting on MSM news articles, say Lisa was a wonderful Mom. So I feel there may be hope that Elle is safe somewhere. I'm heartbroken Lisa felt taking her life was the only answer to whatever pain she was in. Hoping the tips that came in today bring good news tomorrow.

ugggh, This^^^ wording really bothers me. PD 'feels' she may have played a role in child's disappearance....Pd 'feels' she took her own life.

I wish it was more definitive---like they have her on cctv leaving with the child and returning alone, and a video of her saying she was about to kill herself.

Just saying they 'feel' she did this seems so inconclusive.

Elle Ragin is still missing as of Monday morning, but police said that its investigation into her disappearance has yielded "valuable information."

Northfield Police Department issued an updated statement Sunday evening, saying that the 6-year-old remains missing after her mother, Lisa Wade, was found dead by suicide at her home in Northfield Saturday.

"Officers and agents followed up on many leads today and obtained valuable information assisting with gaining the understanding into the disappearance of Elle Ragin," the department said.

Police found the body of Elle Ragin's mother, Lisa Wade, inside her townhome after a relative called and requested a welfare check on the single mother.
"Officers and agents followed up on many leads today and obtained valuable information assisting with gaining the understanding into the disappearance of Elle Ragin," the department said.

"As of this time we have not been able to locate her," it continued. "We will continue to follow up throughout the night and into tomorrow."

The department says it won't provide a new statement on Tuesday unless there's a significant development, but a press conference is scheduled for 3 p.m.

I’m praying so hard for this beautiful little girl. I lived not far from Northfield for three decades. It’s just unimaginable. And seeing the photos of mom and her little girl together I just cannot fathom what went wrong. I wonder if there could have been an accident and mom for whatever reason couldn’t report it? I cannot wrap my brain around another scenario. Holding out a glimmer of hope, but as we all know, after this much time, it’s barely a glimmer. All MOO and speculation.

This article was just updated: Northfield police continue search for missing girl, give update Tuesday afternoon

Ragin, who remains missing three days after her mother was found dead in their townhome, was last seen on June 19, according to Elliott. Two days later, her mother, 39-year-old Lisa Wade, drove to Mississippi River County Park. That afternoon, Wade’s phone shut off and hasn’t turned back on.

The following week, police say family members said Wade seemed “distraught.” Wade died of an apparent suicide at their townhome Saturday.
Police say they have reason to believe Wade could be responsible for Ragin’s disappearance

As of Tuesday, their search was still focused on the water at Mississippi River County Park.

The search for Elle Ragin, a missing six-year-old girl whose mother died by suicide in Northfield on Saturday, continued Tuesday afternoon.

"We are still extremely hopeful, but, based on the information and evidence that we have at this time, we are concerned that we may not be able to find her,” Chief Mark Elliot said during a press conference Tuesday afternoon.

On Tuesday, Elliot shared new details about the information that led investigators to concentrate their search on the Mississippi River near Rice, Minnesota.

It's certainly concerning that Elle was last seen June 19th while her mother is seen on video between June 23 and July 2 without her daughter. Family says the mother was distraught the week of June 25th. Sadly, I think I know how this will turn out.

Moo...wonder what else was going on in the mothers life? Their pics together look very caring. Guess we will not know unless they find the child.

"Since Ragin's reported disappearance, police have received hundreds of leads, including clues that pointed them to Mississippi River County Park near Rice. That's where they found Ragin's cellphone on land, and her mother's phone and purse in the water."

According to police, a Stearns County deputy had contact with Wade on June 23 at the park near her parked vehicle. She said she lost her phone and car keys while hiking and needed assistance. She was alone at the time.

Police say cell phone records obtained by search warrant discovered that Wade drove from her home to the park on June 21. At about 3 p.m. her cellphone shut off in the area of the park.

Northfield police believe Ragin's body is somewhere in the park, but say that based on the information and evidence discovered, they may not be able to find her."
