They’re back in court and on the record. Jurors are not in the courtroom.

A woman just walked up to the witness stand. Judge Cahill says they want to have a conversation before swearing her in to testify.

Cahill says she was w/George Floyd on May 25, 2020 about his physical appearance and the timeframe of events.

Judge Cahill confirms w/her that she is willing to answer a question about whether she was under the influence on that day. He informed her of her 5th amendment right and asked if she wanted to consult w/an attorney.

Jurors are now being brought in and this next witness will be sworn in to testify. #

Eldridge sure stepped up her game, is just better at cross or a combination of both.
On the other hand, what have these witnessess brought for DC. The video entered clearly shows GF was also in a panic-like state like in the event in discussion, certainly not helpful.
Yeah, so far they've shown that whenever officers shouted and pointed a gun at him, Floyd experienced extreme anxiety. That alone will make your blood pressure go up.

ackkkk got a call and had to pause it... is this GF's ex-gf that was with him that day?

Nelson is taking a big chance calling Ms. Hill

  • #86
She does not want to be there.. at all.

  • #87
How can they call Hill? Seriously, IMO she has a terrible attitude and her facial expressions tell a lot about her personality and desire to be here.

George was alert. Happy. Talking in cup foods. Per SH

Potential trainwreck for the defense...

Nelson asks her to describe his behavior inside Cup Foods.

“Happy, normal, talking, alert.”

Hill says at first they were talking and catching up in Floyd’s vehicle when she got a phone call. She says Floyd fell asleep prior to the two Cup Foods workers walked up to the car.

Nelson: So did you continue to try to awaken Mr. Floyd?
Hill: Yes I tried a couple times then, you know, I just let it go for a minute because I was back on the phone.

Yikes. I don't think she wants to be here.

  • #92
But is Nelson going to ask her what made him fall asleep is the question.

  • #93
Yeah this is gonna be a disaster lol

  • #94
  • #95
Well that was quick lol

  • #96
She seems more favorable to the prosecution lol

  • #97
She just keeps mumbling to herself and she definitely thinks it's funny.

#DerekChauvinTrial - After calling 38 witnesses in their case-in-chief, the state rested this morning. Defense has now called two witnesses, both involved in 2019 arrest of #GeorgeFloyd, officer & paramedic.

Now on the stand: Shawanda Hill. She was with #GeorgeFloyd and Morries Hall in the car on May 25, 2020.

Hill is not a good witness. IMO she helps neither side. She is a mess of a witness.

ETA She is clearly hostile witness, but is even a bit hostile towards prosecution as well. They easily redirected her but her credibility is just so poor I don't think she was any help to defense but I don't think she hurt the State's case any

Letting her explain is sooooo helping the prosecution!!!!!!!! She is nervous and I don’t blame her. As soon as Floyd saw the gun is when his reaction changed. “He grabbed the wheel and started saying don’t shoot me don’t shoot me”
