I am not sure if we can discuss Chauvin's soon to be ex-wife. I wonder if she was truly appalled and immediately wanted a divorce. Or, if it was more pragmatic, to separate her financial situation from his, as there will no doubt be a civil lawsuit against Chauvin as well.

Either way, it was super quick. I don't know if I could end a ten year marriage that fast.[/QUOTE

In my opinion, there is no way that Chauvin could have been a decent husband or even human being prior to this. It appears that the man has no conscience. His arrogance in casually killing a man in front of a crowd and cameras screams narcissism to me.

I’m sure that his wife suffered at least mental and emotional abuse prior to this if not physical abuse. Nice guys don’t just decide to beat up and murder a handcuffed man. She may have been holding out hope that someday he would change. I’m sure that all hope was quashed quickly when she saw the video of her husband torturing a man to death.
Great big MOO!

I don’t know how my comment ended up inside the above quote box. I tried to edit it but it didn’t work. Sorry about that!

I hope they stream the trial on Court TV and CNN.

I agree. I wonder if she had been abused, by him, and was actually afraid to leave. Once he was securely locked up, she could leave him without fear.

Domestic violence and being a police officer's wife is very tricky. If you report it, it could be used against you. Or you are afraid of the financial ramifications, your husband could lose his job. So, we don't know what was going on.

Some info on aiding and abetting:

"Elements of Aiding and Abetting

A charge of aiding and abetting has three requirements. First, someone else must have committed a crime. Second, the defendant must have assisted that person in the commission of the crime. Third, the defendant must have had knowledge of that person’s criminal intent or criminal plans."

Video evidence show Floyd being handcuffed and later taken across the street and put in a cruiser. Later footage shows an officer apparently punching Floyd while he was in the back of the cruiser then another officer pulls Floyd out of the other side of the cruiser and puttimg him on the ground. While the four officers had Floyd pinned to the ground they ordered him to get back in the car but didn’t release him to make it possible. The New York Times put together a good video showing all of this. I will see if I can find a link.
Well, if he was already cuffed and in the car there would be no reason to remove him... Unless of course he was removed for the sole purpose of letting Chauvin do what he did. I was simply implying that perhaps there was a struggle inside the car because Floyd did not want to be removed from the car because he knew and feared what Chauvin might do.

Let him get the Virus. That should be the least of his concerns. He wasn't too worried about the virus when he had his leg on George's neck last week. He's lucky that he probably still has backers willing to stand by him. Beyond that, he has a target on his head. I'd wonder if there's a prison Anywhere in the country, where he could become part of the general population.

Perhaps the death penalty is too easy a way out for him. He deserves to spend the rest of his life in isolation, as a pariah.
At this point, the virus may appear as a friend to him. He does not look well.
I see at least 2 targets on his back:
  • He was a cop now incarcerated with inmates he abused and arrested
  • He is enemy #1 to the black community
Anyone associated with him is in danger of retaliation. His wife cannot put out enough press releases severing herself from him. He cannot even kill himself if he wanted to. He is living hell.

What is the delay in arresting the rest of the officers who witnessed a murder and failed to stop it? It makes no sense. They should’ve arrested them all the very first day. MOO

At 37.28 of the following news video, A.G. Keith Ellison speaks to the charges today:

If you scroll back and read the thread, you'll see MN law didn't allow it.

Thinking this over, I'm still PO'd he didn't get 1st degree. LEO knew George didn't have a pulse and CPR could have saved him.

@amyklobuchar

Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison is increasing charges against Derek Chauvin to 2nd degree in George Floyd’s murder and also charging other 3 officers. This is another important step for justice.

"No justice, No peace!" is what the protesters said.
