Officer charged over deadly arrest of George Floyd tried to object, court told

...
One of the four former Minneapolis officers charged over George Floyd's death tried to warn his fellow officers during the arrest, a court has heard.

J. Alexander Kueng hadn't yet completed his third full shift as a police officer when the deadly arrest occurred, his lawyer Tom Plunkett claimed.

Mr Plunkett said Kueng allegedly told his fellow officers as they were detaining George Floyd: "You shouldn't do that."
Lane was also new to the job, only on the force for four days when the incident occurred, his lawyer Earl Gray claimed.

Mr Gray said that Lane twice asked Chauvin, a training officer: "Shall we roll him over?" He also expressed concern that Mr Floyd may be in "delirium."

"What is my client supposed to do other than follow what the training officer said?" Gray said in court.

I think I found one source, very controversial, though. An Australian journalist specializing on the US.

You are really misunderstanding me and i am not sure why, but i will try once more. It is my understanding and i might be wrong here, but i thought Floyd was in another officers car when he was taken out by Chauvin and put on the ground and killed. My theory is that if this is true it could explain the ruckus in the first car because Floyd did not want to be in Chauvin’s custody. Capeche?
The reason is because I had difficulty comprehending. But thanks to you trying one more time, I think I understand now, Capeche :D And, I think you are correct.

@CrimeDawg123 I agree, I don't see "Premeditated Murder" here, or even intentional murder.

I am not defending Chauvin. He is a product of a dysfunctional bureaucracy. Chauvin continued to skate by with unprofessional behavior and probably escalated his actions.

Was he trying to show off to new officers how tough he was? Or how to treat "criminals" who "disrespect" police officers? We don't know what Chauvin was thinking. But I don't believe that Chauvin was stupid enough or even narcissistic enough to murder a man in broad daylight and believe that he would get away with it.

He does look devastated in his mug shot, and only one I have any empathy for. I actually feel bad for him.
He is getting a hard lesson about what happens when you don't stand up against evil. I'm not sure anyone needs to feel bad for him; at least he is still alive and has a chance to reevaluate his life choices once he is out of prison.

Really, I think its odd that you are attempting to invert the reasonable man standard as to what a person charged with murder would think is “reasonable” as to what they could get away with.

It does feel a tad better knowing there was one with a sense of human decency toward GF.

"Gray said Thursday that all Lane did was hold Floyd’s feet so he couldn’t kick, and he underlined that the criminal complaint says Lane asked Chauvin twice if they should roll Floyd over and expressed concern that Floyd might be in delirium. He said Lane performed CPR in the ambulance."
“What was my client supposed to do but follow what his training officer said? Is that aiding and abetting a crime?” Gray asked.

Judge: $750K bail for 3 ex-officers accused in George Floyd’s death

Terrible for them. Their police chief is a weak political tool.
Once the Minneapolis chief overtly condoned breaking rules that prohibit roughing up of arrestees, he corrupted of the civic mission of police and gave permission in advance for the strangulation murder Chauvin committed.
That Floyd's killing was captured on video is the only reason any one outside of the Minneapolis police became aware of the crime.
The formulaic report:
"He was erratic, resisting" would cover Chauvin and he knew it.

George Floyd Criminal Past Arrest Timeline/History/Record of Robbery, Baggie, Gun Pregnant and All Details | The Courier Daily

Within this article there is a link titled George Floyd Criminal Past Arrest Timeline/History/Record of Robbery, Baggie, Gun Pregnant and All Details.

If you will scroll almost to the bottom of this article you will see a video purporting to show Floyd dropping a white baggie out of his hand as the officer sits him on the sidewalk. I watched this six ways until Sunday and finally blew it up enough to see that when Floyd was sat down his hand was in a curled position behind his back and no white baggie was in his curled hand. I noted the white flakes on the sidewalk all around him and came to the conclusion that when he was sat down his arm scraped against the white wall behind him and knocked off a flake of the white paint on the wall in back of him.

Now to get to what I really want to say. In the course of those 20 times I watched this video I happened to notice a black SUV with chrome star shaped rims directly across the street from Floyd's vehicle. So I watched it another 20 times but concentrated only on the black SUV across the street. The vehicle sits parked facing the opposite direction of Floyd's vehicle so the driver has a clear view of Floyd opposite him. As the vehicle sits there with the driver staring across the street at Floyd, we see the clerks from the store cross the street and confront the passenger in Floyd's vehicle. The clerks leave and walk back across the street to the store. The Black SUV leaves then next appears parked close behind Floyd's vehicle. It remains parked there until Lane and Kueng arrive on the scene. Lane goes to the drivers side while Kueng goes to the passenger side. The black SUV remains parked behind Floyd as Kueng gets Floyd's passenger out then sits him back down and runs around the vehicle to the drivers side. Seconds before another police car pulls up the black SUV pulls out waits for cars to pass then makes a U-Turn and parks back across the street in the same position it was in at the first of the video. We then see Kueng sit Floyd down, then Lane and Kueng get him up and walk him across the street to their police car. The black SUV remains in position. We then catch a glimpse of the black SUV pulling out and leaving seconds after Chauvin and Thao arrive on the scene. Unfortunately the video stops there so we have no idea if the SUV left or pulled around the corner or parked back behind Floyd's vehicle.

Now my question is who was in that SUV.

Here is my theory. That black SUV was there watching when Floyd went into the store to buy cigarettes. I believe the driver of that SUV was placed there to see if Floyd would walk into the store and come out with cigarettes. The driver continued to watch him as he crossed the street and sat in his vehicle. After the clerks left to go back to the store, the SUV pulls behind Floyd to get into a position to follow him should he leave so they could call police (Chauvin?) and report the whereabouts of Floyd should he drive away. Then as if by ESP the driver of this SUV knows seconds before a police car is getting ready to pull up, so he pulls out and makes his U-Turn to be in position to watch as Floyd is arrested. Then again as if by some kind of magic the driver pulls out and leaves just as Chauvin and Thao pulls up.

It is my theory that the driver of the SUV knew Floyd would pay with a counterfeit bill because he was the one who gave it to him. I also believe that if the store clerk had not called the police the driver of the SUV would have. I also think he intended to follow Floyd if he drove away so he could keep track of him. I further believe the driver of the SUV called Chauvin and told him that Floyd was being arrested. In short I think that driver of the SUV had some kind of relationship with Chauvin and that Floyd was set up by Chauvin with the aid of the driver of the SUV.

This is just my opinion but I ask you all to watch the video through to the end (and please remember it is from a security camera on a store, not a cell phone of body cam) and tell me your opinion of the unusual actions of the driver in the black SUV.

The white baggie video.... I watched him sit down on the sidewalk, as he slid down the store front wall, hands tied behind his back. Just as he was about to rest directly on the concrete a little bag fell from his clinched hand, flatly hit the pavement. I watched that last few seconds like 7-8 times... stopping & enlarging repeatedly. That little bag was clinched in his hand until he released it. I can only assume that at some point he retrieved it from a rear pocket just prior to or after he was up, back against the wall then sat down. I then went back to look at ALL the sidewalk area, especially close to & up to where the sidewalk meets the wall where Floyd was taken to sit down. Out near the curb was a small piece of paper, probably 3x5 in size—where Floyd sat, that was directly in front of him. There was nothing on the sidewalk prior to where he sat other than some discoloration in the concrete... no paper trash right at all in that specific area, nothing.

I think those are different SUV's. We first see a black SUV parked across the street, with the security camera time from 20:19 to 20:20 (time displayed in the top left corner of the video). Then the video cuts to 20:33, and there's a black SUV behind Floyd's vehicle. That SUV eventually makes a u-turn and parks across the street. Notice that the headlights are larger than the first SUV, and the side view mirror housing appears to be chrome.

The beginning part of the Youtube below shows a video taken by the driver of the SUV behind Floyd's vehicle. The driver was identified as Christopher Belfrey.

Police departments are paid for by state, county and city taxes.

City and county taxes are taken mostly from the middle and lower middle income earners by taxing necessities which takes a much larger percentage of a poor persons income than for the rich.

Basically the poor and especially black areas pay a huge percentage of their income to city taxes and don't get their tax moneys worth.

Police need fewer toys and more skills.

I do also see the little white object looks like maybe it was dropped by his left handcuffed hand.

ETA: I suppose it could be a largish paint chip as someone else suggested. To me it definitely looks like a little baggie. George was distressed right from the beginning - had a look of anguish on his face before he sat down IMO.

I applaud your keen eye and the outstanding catch!! I watched the video numerous times and never noticed the actions of that black SUV. If only we could see the video at the time GF arrived on the scene.

Before reading this, I would say it is impossible. I guess I stand corrected.

And I was beginning to feel a bit sorry for him as I have a tendency to do that. So thank you for posting this information.
