From all the articles that I've seen on here - not one has Floyd's age. Anyone know?
TIA!

Someone mentioned above - I just watched a lynching.... very true! Disgusting! And praying for George's family for their loss. :(

So many of us can't bring ourselves to watch. How many other black men died/will die under such circumstances across America? Society needs to rip out the Confederate roots that are strangling POC, but how?

More than a firing is needed. These "officers" need to be arrested tried and convicted. Serving some very long sentences.

This is disgusting. :mad::(
The cop with his knee on Floyd's neck? He's going to be charged with murder IMO. The video is hard enough to watch when you see Floyd saying multiple times he can't breathe, and then going limp while the cop continues to kneel on his neck. But the look of superiority and satisfaction on the cops face is too much while he's doing it (take note of it if you can stomach watching the video) And then he pulls out his mace and points it at the crowd who's begging him to stop (in the video I watched---not sure if it's the same one posted here).

Time to arrest that cop and charge him with murder. And his partner who stood there and did nothing will be be charged as being an accessory. IMO

It doesn't get anymore clear cut than this.

RIP George Floyd.

I have to agree with you about the look of superiority and satisfaction on that cop's face as he was told to lay off him . Even when told the man was not breathing he did not bat an eye lid.
Was he the leader of the posse? None of the other cops took any notice of what he was doing. The Asian one was not even watching. He had his back to it all. I now realize I have watched a murder in progress. MOO.

Black man dies in Minneapolis police custody, four officers fired

In Minneapolis, kneeling on a suspect's neck is allowed under the department’s use-of-force policy for officers who have received training in how to compress a neck without applying direct pressure to the airway. It is considered a “non-deadly force option,” according to the department’s policy handbook.

A chokehold is considered a deadly force option and involves someone obstructing the airway. According to the department’s use-of-force policy, officers are to use only an amount of force necessary that would be objectively reasonable.

Well they need to go back and rewrite that book.

My city really turned out last night. I'm not into violence or destruction, but as MLKjr. put it so well, "Rioting is the language of the unheard"

lets hope for justice in the form of convictions... if this doesn't happen you can be damn sure ill be at the next protest.

Godspeed George, prayers for family and friends to find some comfort and strength through this nightmare. There's no reason for this and I am truly sorry for the loss of this man's life MOO

New video shows George Floyd being dragged out of his car without resisting arrest, handcuffed and manhandled on the sidewalk before he was 'murdered' by cop who kneeled on his neck
Spokesman John Elder said police located Floyd in his car and ordered him to exit the vehicle, after which he 'physically resisted officers.'

However, new video footage, obtained by FOX 9, has shed light on the moments leading up to Floyd's arrest, showing two officers manhandling and forcibly removing him from his car as he is placed in handcuffs outside the Cup Foods grocery store on 38th and Chicago Ave.

Floyd appears to be complying with officers and not resisting arrest before an altercation ensues.

Additional CCTV footage obtained by CBS News, has also emerged from a nearby restaurant, showing parts of the altercation between Floyd and officers on the sidewalk.

He was calling out for his mama as he was dying. This is beyond appalling.

LE is saying he suffered a health issue after being handcuffed. As a woman I saw on video last night say, "I'd have a health issue if you kneeled on my neck too."

I can't either. It's just so horrible, and it shouldn't have ever happened. I watched it once not knowing what I would see, but now I turn away. It's just heart shattering for me to do so.

They didn't listen to this poor gentleman who was in great distress, and told them so.

While I will never ever support violent protests of any kind, I do think that peaceful protests should continue until these ex- officers are arrested, and charged for killing this man.

May he RIP, and my heart breaks for his entire family, and friends. May God be with them all.

May his family also get swift, and harsh justice.

My apologies if this has already been answered, but did those cops have body cams?
