The monks were never required to account for their travels throughout the community. This includes all the sex offenders who were supposed to be confined to the grounds. There was no one supervising them. Alibis? They never even checked the alibis of these sex offenders in the Guimond case. What are the possibilities of any connection to the Wetterling case? There is most definitely a possibility. Why? Because the surrounding community was their territory. Did any of them have guns? How is it possible to know, when they were never investigated, never required to account for their activities. What went on at the cabins and rural properties owned by the abbey/church? Some really bad stuff we know about and most likely more bad stuff we don't know about (yet). Only after being pressured the sheriff finally sought a warrant to check out the abbey days (weeks?) after Joshua went missing. But the abbey was not about to allow the law inside without a warrant. Being so holy and all. Are all sex offenders violent? No, but many are. These monks are no different from other sex offenders who prey upon vulnerable young people. What would make you think for a moment they wouldn't employ the same methods to subdue their victims that any other criminal would? Because they're holier than thou? Me thinks not.
