I found it in 2011 in a Topix thread.
Not EVERYONE played hockey. Overstatement. Many people in the area did.
The abduction could have been done by a priest as indicated by the rumors that indicate "Jacob was a favorite at the Abbey" . I am not sure if we can ever find out if a priest did it since so many people in power in the area including priests, attys, the sheriff, church members are covering for them and refuse to investigate them as suspects.
I have read that before as well, but I don't recall where.
Is the blue arrow really confirming a footprint, it is an odd pattern there. The complete void of any activity as shown by the gray lines is disturbing to me.

This was a municipal arena, which it still is. I don't think there would have been volunteer monks working there. Driving a zamboni takes a lot of knowledge - back then and now. Also, clearing a sheet of ice isn't that easy. As to a janitor, usually at a rink/arena, the zamboni driver does it all. He is an employee. (I played hockey back then.)
I believe LE lost the scent soon after the driveway. As to the Abbey, there is no verification J was a favorite or was ever there. J's parents were heavily involved in his life. J would not have been there alone. Topix is Topix, not something that has been verified.
I was saying Jacob was rumored to have been taken to the Abbey after the abduction. What if it isn't just a rumor?
What I am trying to discuss here is the possibility of a child sex ring operating in or near the Abbey location. A few people have said they have seen monks do some sort of rituals or cult like behavior (Josh G's grandpa and the bail bond agent). Maybe there was some sort of sick group operating and the members know what happened? One possible member of the group-Vern Seitz. Has anyone seen any of the pictures found in Vern's place or seen the pictures that were developed by the slides found? Where was he staying in MN for two weeks during the time of Jacob's kidnapping? Have they done DNA testing on any of the hair or bones found? It's quite frustrating to keep all the possible child abduction evidence secret by the police.
I agree. The only other print nearby is the odd crepe sole. This is almost like a "hush puppy" type shoe if I had to take a wild guess... Not something an outdoorsman or military type would wear.
I remember hearing that way back immediately after the kidnapping, along with statements that Patty was an occasional tutor at ST Johns......heard it way before Internet existed....but have not heard that for years.....I would have had to hear it on TV or radio or have read it in the paper, but could be a rumor.

Yes.Jacob's family is a family that did all kinds of activities TOGETHER. Just look at the fun things they did on that fateful Sunday.
Why would Jacob be at the Abbey? The family is not Catholic.
Crazy talk made by people who know zero .
IMO, Jacob and his friends rode their bikes all over this small safe town. When his missing poster first came out, my husband recognized him as one of the kids who used to come to the park in St. Joe and watch the local RC flying club fly their planes. (The group had permission to fly there in the late 80's.) Hubby said all these young boys on bikes were constantly talking with the club members and asking for a chance to fly their planes. So these kids were not as closely supervised as some seem to think. It was a small town and before Jacob was taken, parents felt very safe letting their kids ride all over.
I don't think it's a stretch that the boys would have biked to St. John's, there are quiet back roads that go there, in addition to the highway. There's a huge lake for swimming, a picnic area, and that intriguing path that winds through the woods around the lake out to the Stella Maris chapel.

I am assuming that you are a female as you referred to your husband in a past post. Or perhaps not. I do not mean to assume or offend.
Could anyone recognize a child at a tryout? They would not be wearing jerseys with their names on them, would they because they were only trying out for a team and would not have a name jersey?
The goalies wore masks. Did the other children wear helmets?
Did girls have their own team or were they mixed in with the boys?
I am curious if a child could be identified on the ice.
He did not attend the church .
If something ever happened with those monks, wouldn't Jacob's friends mention it?
