I agree but in regards to Jacob's case we don't know for sure the motive was sexual. I know every text book and opinion of most say it is...but we just don't know. After reading the last couple posts on Joy's blog about the "party in the woods" it made me realize all the activity going on near Rassier's property and probably often...not only the party on Saturday but also when you factor in the supposed car speeding up his driveway and previous comments about their driveway being used as a lovers lane. I just wonder if they had issues with older teens trespassing or causing mischief on their property before the abduction. Maybe he saw the bobbing flashlights out near the road and wondered what the heck the high school kids were up to again and went out in a rage possibly to scare them and was surprised when he realized how young they were....which lead to asking them their ages. And then it took a whole different spur of the moment turn. Just so many possibilities.

I have often wondered if jacob had been molested by someone in the neighborhood and he threatened to tell and that someone needed to eliminate the risk sooner rather than later and therefore the boldness of doing this with two people present. Jacob may have been too scared or embarrassed to tell his friend or brother.

Her 'breakdown' was also pretty much attributed to the way that she, and her husband were treated! That makes perfect sense to me.

I believe our society is so honed in on heterosexual and, currently, LGBT sex - TV, movies, ads, Internet - that it's difficult to comprehend that a middle aged man could be living with his parents and could have no history of homosexuality or heterosexual relationships or inappropriate relationships with children. When a child disappears, the immediate thought is he must be involved, despite working daily with male children with no evidence of inappropriate relationships or evidence of being a pedophile. His employment record was perfect. Why think he suddenly lay in wait at the end of his driveway for an opportunity to molest and abduct a child?

There really are those who don't go to bed with someone else, those who have no interest in sex. I have a farmer friend who is in his mid-60's, still lives with "Mom," has never had a sexual relationship of any kind. I'm thinking, he, too, could easily be accused of a sexual crime because society cannot comprehend such behavior. But, it happens.

Asexuality is somewhat rare though. Something like 1% of the world's population, and that doesn't specify whether they never had any sexual experience/relationships, or if they had and didn't like it or whatever. So in a little town like St. Joe with 2-3000 people back then, there may be 1 or 2 who have no sexual feelings whatsoever. But I think it's pretty strange that Jacob just happened to get abducted from the driveway of the only man in town who's asexual. What a coincidence.

I've never read a news source of any kind or heard Aaron or Trevor stating they were fondled as a fact. Not saying I didn't miss something so feel free to post the link.

The motive was sexual. And we all just finally agreed to state that it was sexual. Patty has confirmed this publicly, so we need to take her word for it. The boys were fondled. How is that not sexual?

Agreeing to state it was sexual doesn't make it a fact even if Patty believes the same thing. I'm not disagreeing I'm just saying unless there was fondling the motive could be something else. Again I've never heard Aaron or Trevor confirm that and I've never read an article stating that as fact. I've only heard rumors of it.

One thing for sure, is the people who were Hollinger's next door neighbors, in rural Cold Spring, were actually at the Del-Win Ballroom on the night of October 22, 1989.

It appeared that local investigators thought violence was the motive because the abductor had a gun, but FBI assumed it was sex related from the beginning, and perhaps the perp failed on other attempts, hence the gun. "Based on what happened at the scene". What happened at the scene? They knew.

Of course it's always been about sex, and yes kids are abducted with guns and sexually assaulted, just as Jared was in Jan, 1989...... They still are today.

All of the different things? The cars, he searched. He did not search. Lots of LE, few LE. Did not know anything as wrong even though helicopters flying low with searchlights and he said the talked to LE?

I still don't think it's DR, but not good if he's hanging out with pedophiles at some point in his life. However, the pedophile we exposed knew lots of good people who were clueless that he was a pedophile. His crimes were covered up well. He knows people in high places.

Who knows....you never know. I wasn't told that he was out of the ball game. I think it's a stretch, however, and I don't think he took Jacob. He may have abducted others though. I'm still thinking DMs information holds weight, and I hope the rest of her information is being looked into now.
