Found Deceased MN - Jeanine Jackson, 81, went to walk her dog, has memory issues, Sanborn, Redwood County, 20 Sept 2023

The Redwood County Sheriff's Office is searching for 81 year old Jeanine Jackson, from Sanborn, MN. Jeanine suffers from memory issues and potentially became disoriented during a morning walk.

She was last seen at approximately 9:30am on 09/20/23 and is accompanied by her dog, described as a white and tan colored Chihuahua.

Residents of the Sanborn area are encouraged to check their properties and surveillance systems, including doorbell cameras, for any video. No clothing description is available at this time.

Anyone with information on the location of Jeanine Jackson is asked to contact the Redwood County Sheriff’s Office at 507-637-4036.

The search for Jeanine Jackson, age 81, remains active. Personnel from numerous law enforcement agencies, fire departments, and a volunteer search group have continued the search overnight.

We are coordinating a volunteer search at 2:00pm on 09/21/23.

Parties interested in assisting should respond to the Sanborn Fire Department located at 100 Letford St Sanborn MN at 1:30pm for further instructions.

SANBORN, Minn. (KEYC) - The Redwood County Sheriff’s office will be coordinating another volunteer search tomorrow for a missing 81 year old woman with memory issues in the Sanborn area after her dog was found today.

81 year old Jeanine Jackson was last seen around 9:30 on the morning of September 20th while on a walk with her white and tan Chihuahua.

The sheriff’s office says the dog was found south and west of the city near the border with Cottonwood county today and has been returned to family. An immediate search of the area was conducted but Jackson was not found.

Parties interested in assisting the search should respond to the Sanborn Fire Department by 10:00 a.m.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Redwood County Sheriff’s Office at 507-637-4036.

The dog was found Saturday along a gravel road southwest of Sanborn and returned to family, the sheriff's office said. Officials searched the immediate area but did not find Jackson.

The sheriff's office said it will continue searching on Sunday.

This is so sad. And easy to overlook for most people since elderly people tend to be found in good condition, but she's been gone way too long so it's very concerning. As bad as it is, I am hoping she fell somewhere and passed quickly and peacefully and that no crime was committed. Obviously, the better scenario would be that she's still alive somewhere, but not sure how she could be getting water and food and shelter unless someone shady is involved. I wonder if the dog eventually ran away from her if she did fall somewhere? At some point, a dog would know something was wrong and may eventually try to go find food. Otherwise, yeah...it could be sus that her dog showed up alone if she's nowhere to be found. Her poor family.
