“The FBI Minneapolis Division is honored to have joined our law enforcement partners in the ongoing effort to recover Manny Collins,” said Alvin M. Winston Sr., special agent in charge of the FBI Minneapolis Field Office. “In response to a request for assistance from the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office, FBI Minneapolis deployed our highly trained Evidence Response Team, along with the FBI’s Laboratory Evidence Response Team Unit and the Technical Hazardous Response Unit from Quantico, VA. Both units are expertly trained in ensuring safety at complex crime scenes.

"This collaborative effort underscores our deep commitment and unity in the mission to recover Manny. The coordination and resource sharing among all agencies and volunteers have been crucial to finding Manny.

"The FBI extends its heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Manny Collins during this difficult time. We remain dedicated to pursuing justice and will continue to work closely with our partners to ensure that the truth is uncovered and that justice is served.”

FYI 1st degree murder in MN can only be charged by grand jury indictment, which I've learned from other MN cases making headlines.

Arrested/charged/indicted/arraigned, sadly, we all knew where this was headed.

Ashley Berry said her son, 16-year-old Jordan "Manny" Collins Jr., deserves justice, and she wants his murderer to receive the maximum penalty.

"He needs to feel every bit of what he's done and to think about it every day," said Berry, referring to Manny's father, 38-year-old Jordan Dupree Collins Sr.

Collins Sr. has been charged with second-degree murder. He was arrested on Monday and is currently being held at the Anoka County Jail on a $2 million bond.

Berry gave high praise to the investigators in the case, saying they tried to prepare her for the horrifying details.

"The detectives have been pretty good at trying to prepare me before I got to court; they tried to warn me about certain things. But how fast it got out there. It was like... It's hard for me to be on social media right now. It's hard for me to do a lot of things. It was a lot of stuff I didn't know," said Berry.
