I found this interesting, since this building was on the SJU campus since 1912. Seems odd to me that it burned down now right after all these lists of molesting priests have come out. Maybe this was a place used for meetings, or for storing "trophies"?

St. John's paint shop destroyed by fire was historic site

good find Shergal! I wouldn't put it past SJU that some priest/monk offender info was hidden in there somehow.

I wonder what it will take to get Stearns county to unseal the findings of Bruce Wollmering's room search? He died on 02/04/09. There has to be some interesting info in it to keep it sealed for so long. What's the holdup Stearns COunty? Hiding something for SJU monks? Covering up information?

Agree with you, JBrown -- I've always suspected collusion on the part of Stearns County authorities and St. John's University. Too many conflicts of interest involved to be able to uncover the layers of lies upon lies. And now with Wollmering gone, it's going to take someone who saw or knows something to come forward. But honestly I think those who might know something are terrified to say anything.

Wow, Shergal-- excellent sleuthing!! It frustrates me to no end how this case has been handled, from start to finish. It was the old, "okay everyone, let's look over here and there, but let's not go to the location where we really should be looking." (i.e. monastery, locations on the grounds where certain monks regularly went, etc) The other places that most definitely should have been searched were all those cabins St. John's owns which are used for "retreats." One can only imagine what went on in those places...

there certainly could be some LE that benefited such as Meemken who was tried for sex abuse.

Josh Guimond needs justice from the Stearns County Sheriff. They need to investigate all records of the restricted priests that live on the very same campus he went missing from. Per website: behindthepinecurtain.com, many priests have credible allegations of taking advantage of students- both college aged and prep school aged. The head of psychology was even bragging about being in love with a student! With these kinds of horrible boundaries, the sheriff should have no shortage of suspects. Yet they do nothing! Come on!

Bumping for Josh...

Probably not possible to catch the actual perpetrator now. I still suspect someone who was affiliated with the perpetrator may have information about Joshua's disappearance -- but they're not talking nor have they been for the last ten years. I wonder if they plan on taking their secrets to the grave. I know the Stearns County sheriff has had very little to say on the matter, alas. Joshua's sudden disappearance destroyed his parents and only his grandfather is now able to continue seeking answers. What will happen when Grandpa Guimond is no longer able to do it? Please go to www.findjoshua.com to see if you can help. The number of us still searching for answers has diminished but we'll never give up. Thank you.

Wow, I can't believe it's been so long :(

Please Sherriff Sanner and St Johns oblates, PLEASE release what was found in deceased Monk B Wollmering's room after Stearns County Sherriff searched it following his untimely death!

I second that, JBrown!! Further, someone in that monastery most likely has information, but they are not talking. It's sickening to me that the sheriff did not investigate and confirm the alibis of every sex offender on that campus!! They waited to search the monastery and they did not bother to get a warrant to check the numerous church properties, especially that friggin cabin in Bemidji! But there are plenty of other locations owned by the church/university -- were these searched? No of course not. This case was never handled in a manner that one would expect for a disappearance of a young person -- or any person, for that matter. Joshua's family was treated with condescension and arrogance. I am convinced no one in that community wanted to know whether the perpetrator of Joshua's disappearance was in that monastery -- too much at stake -- the great football team and recognition and all the $$$ generated by that. God forbid people re-prioritize and actually give a damn about what happened to Josh. The current abbot has been caught in numerous cover ups with regard to the sex offenders housed on the campus. And now the one monk who might have possibly held the answers to what happened to Joshua died "suddenly" a few years ago. Would love to see the autopsy, but we'll never get the truth about that either, rest assured. All the lies, deception, arrogance, and cover ups -- unbelievable that anyone would give that place a dime, much less send their kids there!! It's been ten years and not one hint about what happened to Joshua? The hints have always been right there on the campus and have been there from day one. I have zero law enforcement background, but it doesn't take much training at all to zero in on what kind of environment Joshua was in. The first hint was the number of identified and unidentified sex offenders on the campus. One of Josh's last college papers dealing with the topic of sexual abuse was the second hint. His disappearance within a close radius to Jared and Jacob -- and others -- is another hint. Others may have been involved, but I believe there was one in the center = pure evil. And no justice for Joshua in sight. Talk about sinful.

There is no absolution for a crime like that, so if someone thinks he is saved because a priest said it was OK, know that it is not forgiven.

The perp must confess. Otherwise, his eternal soul is in deep trouble

Eckroth and Dahlheimer named in the suit molested many boys. The leader of the Abbey assured one of the victims that they will not be around children again. They lied.

  • #315
That's all that abbey (and abbots) have ever done, is lie. And get away with it (alumni, citizens, politicians, students why do you allow this?)

  • #316
Because they have a good football team and provide many many jobs in the community.

And because lots of influential people went there.

Kudos to thosr who are coming forward and Jeff Anderson!

So why can't the family ask the FBI?

isn't that candidate related to the POI in the Wetterling case?

  • #319
bumping for Josh. The secrets of St Johns University about Josh need to be uncovered!
Local story about Josh aired tonight. Will try to post link.

The candidate running against Sheriff Sanner promised the G family that more details of the disappearance would be released. The candidate lost. What a disappointment and blow to the family.

A candidate can say what he wants.

Isn't he in LE? Why not bring forward the info? What is stopping him?
