Father Dan Ward taught political science classes, Josh was a political science major. Father Ward used to take students to mock trial competitions in different states. Josh was the co-captain of the mock trial team. Father Dan Ward claims he was in the Bahamas when Josh went missing, even when he wasn't asked:

If the staff at the school showed some concern for the popular missing student, would they not do everything in their power to bring attention to the case?
How about former students, do any of them do anything to find out what happened to a schoolmate?

Still suspicious about BW's cause of death. Nthat o, I don't trust anyone in charge of anything related to St. John's. That place has tentacles that run through practically every segment of that community. Someone queried why people don't ask questions or express more caring about what happened to Joshua. My take is that it's because it would inconvenience them terribly to have to admit that something bad was happening and they didn't have it in them to give a damn.

I tried getting info on BW's death using freedom of info request. First from the DA, they referred me to Sheriff Sanner's office. Sheriff Sanner office referred me to medical examiner. The medical examiner's report would not be released because it is a death investigation. Apparently per phone, they told me the findings of BW room search can only be made to direct family. I have yet to research to see if this is true or not.

Wow. I wonder what kind of info is available under FOIA?

People in that community are so intertwined with financial issues such as jobs, providing services, etc that I imagine getting any truth is difficult. I imagine there are people who know things and would talk if you could somehow be lucky enough to run into one.

Wonder if he ( and his room) is being checked out for something bigger than anyone knows about, or that will be revealed at this time?

probably not. it took over 25 years for the same sheriff dept to take info found by sleuthers for Jacob W case. They probably have nothing on Josh's case and are not working it. Sheriff Sanner is a big supporter of St John's University and does not want anything bad to cast a shadow over it. He wants to sweep it under the rug just like everyone else!

Hope it is fine to post this in limited form, this specific info. might spark something in someone who sees it, imo, speculation.

Stearns County publicly announced that Josh disappeared after walking home from a party around midnight. Josh’s former girlfriend explained that a key card is needed to enter Josh’s apartment. The family found records that JOSH ENTERED HIS APARTMENT between 11:05 and 11:10 pm on 11/9/02. His computer showed that he signed off at 11:29 pm. This proves he went missing from his apartment and NOT walking home. This narrows the suspect pool considerably. The last known whereabouts of a missing person is key to an investigation.

The computer expert looked at his hard drive, emails and files stored on the St. John’s server. There were only 3 deleted emails in his deleted file. This in itself is unusual as Josh was known to his family as a pack rat. ALSO, ONE EMAIL IN THE DELETED FILE WAS DONE ON 11/10/02 at 1:52 pm, almost 14 hours after he was reported missing. SOMEONE ACCESSED JOSH’S COMPUTER.

....... logged on to Josh’s computer from 11:48 pm on 11/11/02 until 12:40 am on 11/12/02. Josh went missing around 11 pm on 11/09/02.

If you are talking about Fr. BW, the autopsy report is in the files released by St. Johns. I find it very odd the amount and severity of injuries he sustained if it was truly from a fall, as they claimed.

There has been some good leads in the J Wetterling case, do any of the poi in that case have any connection to Joshua or his school ?

The 20-year-old college student just “disappeared” from the St. John’s University campus shortly after midnight Nov. 10, 2002. Despite massive searches, no trace of him has ever been found; no new clues or other information has surfaced as to what happened to him.
The disappearance of Joshua in 2002 and the abduction of Jacob Wetterling in 1989 both happened in the St. Joseph area, and both are equally as baffling, remaining unsolved after so many years.

Guimond’s parents, fellow students and acquaintances remain deeply disturbed by the disappearance of such an intelligent and likable young man. All who knew him described Guimond as highly responsible, the kind of person who would never willfully “disappear” or do anything foolish to cause his own demise.
Guimond, who would be 31 now, was raised in Maple Lake, the only child of Brian Guimond and Lisa Cheney. He was a stellar student in high school, president of his class, school representative on the school board and voted “Most Likely to Succeed” by his classmates.

Guimond was described as 5 feet 11 inches, 160 pounds, blonde hair and blue eyes. He had a four-inch vertical scar on one of his shoulders. At the time he went missing, he was wearing blue jeans and a gray SJU sweatshirt.

His roommate, Nick Hydukovich, stunned by Guimond’s disappearance, said he was so responsible that his going somewhere else that night was unthinkable, something Guimond would absolutely not do.

thank you. Let me clarify my statement- I tried to get information about the investigation of his death by Stearns County Sheriffs office. Meaning the sheriff's office sealed off and searched BWs room after his death. They won't disclose the findings. I too find it odd about the severity of his injuries and the claim of how it happened. They do not match. A cracked skull and rib is more likely cause by a car accident or an assault. But Stearns County and the medical examiner (same office) accepted the theory from the SJU person who was at the scene. Duh. I am not medically trained, but I have watched enough medical shows to know the injuries are not consistent with a fall. Someone is covering up something. And the medical examiner/Stearns County just accepted it without explanation. Ridiculous.
