kemo, the family had expert divers check the lake soon after it happened. Stumpf Lake is not a river with a current, where the body could travel, so it would stay in the same general area of where he went missing. And yet, Chris Jenkins' body was found in a river. Why not Josh's? I don't believe he is in there. I think the monks should be seriously questioned.
I still have a spreadsheet of missing college aged men who went missing walking home from parties or bars alone and ended up in water. 290 on my list from US and Canada. It could be anything- someone spiked their drink with LSD which made them really hot and think they need to go for a swim, they could be impaired thinking swimming would be fun, they could have lost their balance, the bouncer wanted to get back at them and drowned them or someone pushed them in. Unfortunately, a lot of people know that disposing bodies in water washes away evidence so it is very hard to prove homicide unless there is evidence of a shooting. Josh is one of the few that have not turned up. I don't think he is in the water.

The water wasn't dived into until a winter and a couple months had passed. The trident foundation out of Colorado tried using side sonar technology in a lily pad infested and unclear water. Side Sonar Technology probably works in oceans and crystal clear bodies of water. Stumpf lake is a chain river system that is connected to multiple other bodies of water.

There is a pattern out there of inebriated young men who are walking home at night, finding themselves in bodies of water. This occurred so frequently in the upper mid-West in the 2000's that there was speculation some serial killer, or even a gang of SK's was out there pushing young men into rivers. That was all pretty far fetched but it is strange that it happens so often.

Anyone who has been drinking will have to relieve themselves occasionally and the bank of a river or lake would be as good a spot as any. River and lake banks can be slippery and if it is dark they can be quite treacherous, particularly if you are intoxicated. This is as reasonable explanation as any. The bodies do usually turn up however.

From what I have read, it is very hard to predict if bodies of drowning victims will ever be recovered. A human body is naturally buoyant only if it has a high enough ratio of fat to muscle mass (with bone density also being a factor). Women, tending to have more body fat, are more likely to float. Josh appears to have been rather slender so he probably would not be naturally buoyant.

All bodies will float once they expand with the gasses that result from decomposition but, for various reasons, that doesn't always happen. Most clothing is also not buoyant but it will float as long as air bubbles cling to it. It is certainly well within the realm of possibility that fully clothed body would never surface.

I have scuba dived in lakes. Very often there is a layer of sentiment at the bottom. It tends to be very soft and anything that sinks to the bottom is very quickly buried in muck and would be difficult or impossible to find. If that is what happened to Josh, after 15 years, it is unlikely he will be found.

But, we don't KNOW that is what happened. With the nefarious going ons around campus concerning sexual abuse and the coverups of that abuse, there are going to be suspicions that Josh's disappearance is somehow related. Still, by far, the most probable explanation is an accidental fall into a body of water.

To me it is totally strange that no evidence has surfaced if he fell and drowned near shore. This is why we have to do our best investigation also into a possible abduction. Who knew how to operate the incinerator? Who deleted over 300 emails from Josh's computer? The people that saw josh on the way back to his apartment, what was he walking like?

I know the answer to your first two questions. The issue is, how are those people connected and what do they know about Josh and his disappearance? We need to figure it out before they die or have another supposed "accident". The sheriff won't give us any data on the interviews and people are not responding to my emails. I may have to start calling people directly.

The Sheriff should be willing to meet with you. He is our public servant. Go in there and ask him these questions.

The offender responsible for Joshua Guimond’s disappearance, if foul play is involved, would have the following personal characteristics: above average intelligence; socially competent, with good interpersonal skills; employed in a skilled occupation; high birth-order status (e.g., first-born son); a poor relationship with his father, who humiliated him in childhood; a childhood history of inconsistent discipline; a reliable means of transportation, most likely a late-model car in good condition; and a precipitating situational stress in his personal life prior to the victim’s disappearance.

The offender would be considerably older than traditional-age college students. He would be very familiar with the college campus from which the victim disappeared; it would be part of his territory, his comfort zone. He likely would be familiar with the schedules of campus buses and security officers and would know whether the campus has surveillance cameras and where they are located.

The offender would have conducted extensive pre-surveillance of campus activity around midnight on weekends, which suggests he easily blends in and does not arouse the suspicions of students or security officers when out and about late at night on campus. He would be comfortable in outdoor locations.

The offender would be highly skilled in presenting the image of a loving and sincere individual and adept at charming others and gaining their confidence and trust. However, beneath this veneer of civility and trustworthiness, he would be selfish, cunning, manipulative, and driven by a need for power, domination, and control.

The offender would have chosen for himself an occupation or avocation that allows him to act as an authority figure and places him in a position where he can easily identify and gain the trust of vulnerable college-age men (e.g., youth counselor or coach); however, he will not have distinguished himself in his chosen occupation.

The offender may previously have come to the attention of authorities as a result of allegations of inappropriate relationships with younger men or minor violations such as trespassing, peeping, soliciting, or numerous driving offenses.

The offender would be a fussy, meticulous, impeccably groomed individual preoccupied with details, lists, organization, and schedules. He would act kindly toward those who submit to his authority but cold, critical, or vindictive toward those who do not. He would have few if any genuine, reciprocal, give-and-take friendships. He would be essentially a loner whose primary relationships are with younger men in a subservient, compliant role.

The offender likely would have rehearsed his abduction plan. This means that in the months prior to his victim’s disappearance, he used a con or ruse (e.g., asking for assistance or directions, feigning a fall, accident, or injury) to lure a student late at night into a vehicle, to an isolated area concealed from public view, or to an indoor location over which he had a great deal of control (e.g., a basement, garage, or office area).

The likely offender would have a longstanding interest in sexual bondage and discipline, and over the years may have sought out opportunities to discuss this and other sexual topics with younger men (possibly in a counseling situation, or perhaps in a joking or offhand fashion in more informal interactions). He would have an extensive collection of bondage 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬, though this would likely be a closely guarded secret.

After the victim’s disappearance, the offender would have closely followed the investigation in the news media; likely increased his alcohol consumption, showed signs of stress, and/or experienced weight loss; and may have changed jobs or left the area until the dust had settled enough for him to feel it was safe enough to return.

When he is finally apprehended, many will be shocked, asserting that this was the last person they would have suspected of being capable of such a heinous crime.

In conclusion, all alternative explanations having been exhausted, it now seems plausible that the most likely explanation for Guimond’s disappearance is indeed an abduction. Could it be more than a coincidence that another young male, Jacob Wetterling, was abducted just a few miles away on October 22, 1989 in St. Joseph, 13 years before Guimond went missing, and that no trace of either Wetterling or Guimond has ever been found?

It happened at night and on a weekend, he's walking on a road alone, he vanishes. Where was Danny Heinrich on the night of Joshuas disappearance?

Very interesting link, tried but could not post last known pic.of Joshua, he looked so very young, no doubt part of the appeal to the person/s who may have abducted him.
Still thinking (speculating) that someone, maybe even a student, was paid or rewarded in some way for scooping Joshua.
Did he have a public musical performance shortly prior to going missing?
imo speculation.

Wetterling's remains where however found earlier this past September 1, and the perpetrator was Danny James Heinrich: http://www.websleuths.com/forums/sh...as-Jacob-Wetterling-Suspect-led-LE-to-Remains

I can not think of a case where an adult male, who appeared reasonably fit, was abducted " off the street" by a sexual predator. Heinrich was short and chunky. He was wise to stick with ten year olds. Predators who target grown men usually lure them into their autos or residence on some pretense and then incapacitate them. I have absolutely no reason to believe Josh was involved in such activity but anything is possible I guess.

Heinrich is also 12 years older when Josh is taken. He can't find kids out and about at night anymore. He's out driving around again, this time through the St. Johns area. Factor in the gun and an older and meaner Heinrich. Is it possible?

A reinvented look, the state of the case today.

We need to get factual and we need more information of what has gone on for 14 years. The last people to see Josh outside and walking his way back to the apartment deserve an interview at this point.

Party Drugs

Reinterviewing the kids at the party as they are now adults. Does one of them have something more to share now?
