I still find it hard to believe that NO ONE is investigating Josh's disappearance when 1)there are KNOWN SEX OFFENDERS living on SJU campus, 2) his roommate whitewashed his computer right after he went missing and lied about it to a reporter 3) the sherriff went to SJU and the DA's husband works there (conflict of interest). 4) According to poster Phantom, the campus incinerator used for cremations and garbage was used on an unscheduled day ALSO 5) the school has been known to cover up major crimes on campus. Bless you Josh !

Bumping for Joshua Guimond. May the secrets of the Abbey be revealed very soon.

It has been 9 years since Josh has been missing as of yesterday. There is a prayer service for Josh tonight at 7pm, Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Maple Lake. All are invited to attend.

I think Stearns Cty found something and is covering it up. They could try to test the incinerator for any dna evidence. It may be a long shot, but it could be worth it- especially if what phantom said was true about it being used on an off day.

It probably should be looked into to see if there were any cremations or burials around the time of both Jacob's and Joshua's disappearances. Also, I strongly suspect that Joshua might have found something out about Jacob and both his disappearance and the monk's death will somehow be related to that case.

I also noticed in BW's obituary that he went to Switzerland in 1990 and so would be interested to learn how early in 1990 that was, and whether or not it was during the height of Jacob's disappearance investigation.

praying for Josh today and may we find the secrets the Abbey is holding.

Josh Guimond and his family deserve answers from St John's about what happened to him. The church has too much power over the sheriff. Someday we will get answers.

Penn State anyone? In case there were doubters, we now see how this kind of stuff can happen and be hidden for years and years and years

I was recently at St John's and thinking about Josh and B Wolmering, as I walked about the campus.

Though there may have been a connection between Josh G and BW, on several levels, Josh's disappearance remains very disturbing and unsettling to many, including the Monks to this day. With both of them being gone, I doubt we will ever know what happened to Josh.

The autopsy results for BW, I believe showed cerebral hemorrhage. This makes sense if he were trying to get to the BR in the locker room. From what I know, he hit his head on the sink while falling, causing a lot of bleeding, tried to get up and fell again, cracking a rib on a bench. EMT got there fairly quickly, but too late. As bizarre as his death ended up being, he died from natural causes.

Celticthyme, it very well could be natural, but the fact that so much trauma in a room that has no cameras is very odd to me.

There will be a vigil for the 10 year disappearance anniversary.

Someone needs to file a lawsuit to open St John's secret files like they did to the boy scouts. I bet there is some interesting info in them. What if the university is holding information for Josh's disappearance??

I am very grateful for the interest shown by some of the websleuth investigators here. Thank you for continuing to care about Josh. I always felt Patrick J. Wall, a former monk at St. John's University and now with a law firm in CA, could help with this case. Maybe he has and I just don't know about it. If anyone would know how to access the secret files of the abbey, it would be him. And if he didn't know, he would know who would.

God bless you all for not giving up. Grandpa Bob Guimond has been shouldering this pretty much on his own. Josh's Dad just got overwhelmed with pressure and heartbreak. So did his Mom, so Grandpa Bob took over the search for Josh. I can only imagine the terrible suffering the Guimonds have endured throughout these ten long years.

Phantom, I am trying to do what I can without risking my job. I mailed letters to 3/4 of the people on the board at St John's (couldn't find some addresses) begging them to look into Josh's disappearance and warning them that I will be contacting media sites about the disappearance (I contacted St Cloud times, Fox 9 news and Disappeared). I feel bad for the family. It doesn't seem like they are getting any help from anywhere else. Maybe they should try the resources on this site.

I could not ever know how hard it is to not know where your child is- dead, alive, lost? That would be the worst torment ever. Bless the Guimond family as the anniversary gets near.

human,
I definitely think something is going on. There are so many young college guys vanishing from the midwest area out of nowhere. These guys I do not see as runaways, they seem pretty level headed... for women we can guess the motive for a serial killer, but it's not as clear all the times with men.
I remember Scot Radel vanished on Feb 2 2006 in St. Cloud MN. He was an SCSU student, but a junior from Owatonna MN. He was looking for directions to a bar and was last seen at McRudy's. A month later, they pulled his body from the Mississippi River.
It looks like his disappearance was an accident, but I have always wondered if when they did his autopsy, they found out if he was intoxicated enough to wonder onto the icy Mississippi RIver.

It'll be interesting to chart missing college students from the MN & WI area, if I find any thing significant or enough info, ill add it on here.

Joshua has been missing for awhile, cant believe it's ten years. Not all these missing college students are gone by "accident". Someone knows something.

Here's a very interesting theory created by NY detectives about the Drowning Team Serial Killers, who pray on young college men:
http://www.abovetopsecret.com/forum/thread351428/pg1

Is someone hunting males across the country, particularly in the midwest/ east region? It does not surprise me that this issue is not more well known because these are young men. If this were a string of college girls missing, everyone would know about it.

Here's a list made from the site above of a list of possible victims, including ones that have been found. All of them were pulled from the Mississippi River or lakes. Im sure not all of these are accidental deaths, even though they are ruled as such. It also looks like a majority of these young men have been found opposed to still missing, which could be because remains just put in a river and lake wont stay hidden too long compared to being elsewhere, like in the woods. If they are connected, the perp(s) seems to not care if they are recovered or not.

"Missing College Students are turning up dead. Either a serial killer hunting young men is loose in the upper midwest leaving victims in rivers, or the heartland is drowning in coincidence"-http://vanceholmes.com/court/trial_missing.html

Thank you for featuring Josh's case. This is a crime that will be solved from the outside -- meaning -- local law enforcement has exhibited no interest in pursuing other avenues of investigation for this case. The initial search was deliberate in its avoidance of St. John's abbey, which has an extensive docuemnted history of sexual abuse (see behindthepinecurtain website). I am afraid that the perpetrator of this crime may no longer be with us. However, I do believe there is at least one person that may be aware of what happened. I also believe it may still be possible to find evidence in the case. We just need someone to step forward and provide some information. What happened to Joshua and his family is a complete tragedy. Josh's family was terribly affected by his disappearance. The lack of support and help from the sheriff's dept. and local community has left them feeling helpless. I won't get into all the details about why, but the burden of searching for Josh has been taken over by Grandpa Bob Guimond. I am very concerned that should anything happen to him, Josh's case will slowly fade from memory. If you are able, please consider getting involved to help the Guimond family (see findjoshua website). Thank you for your caring and help. And by the way, why is it that Penn State gets severely penalized for knowing about sexual abuse, but St. John's University is given a pass? Explain to me how that is fair.
