At the spiritual center where she taught there is a sign that indicates a memorial service will be planned for the public in August. Even worse than Don Damond...think about her father and other family in Australia....so far away and I would guess having a very difficult time even believing such a thing can happen.

the home per tax records is owned by Donald Damond...they were not yet married and it is only his name on the title. When the news reports say "family cooperated" I imagine given he returned about noon on Sunday either they spoke with him on the phone or waited until he returned. As to whether they had an attorney that fast I doubt it.

Thanks for clarifying.

Justine's family would certainly be in a state of shock. It's just so very sad, :(

It's pretty obvious family would be her fiancee. It's his house.

Family implies more than one person. The discussion was about getting a search warrant. Who are all of these family members being cooperative and allowing a search?

well I guess "family" is not the legal term here...one can only assume that Don Damond allowed the search given it is his home.

If they had a warrant they didn't need anyone's permission.

They don't even need a warrant in certain circumstances according to this article. The article is dated from 2014 so don't know if that ruling is still valid today?

Supreme Court Rules that Cops DO NOT Need a Warrant to Search Your Home
In another devastating blow to freedom, the Supreme Court ruled Tuesday that police don’t need a warrant to search your property. As long as two occupants disagree about allowing officers to enter, and the resident who refuses access is then arrested, police may enter the residence.

Although reading about SW's it makes it look as if LE were trying to find "probable cause" to search the home of a victim Noor had just killed to somehow try and justify what he had done, IMO.

Authorities Searched Damond's Home; Law Prof Believes That Could Cause An International Incident

""I don't understand why they're looking for bodily fluids inside her home," said Joseph Daly, an emeritus professor at Mitchell Hamline School of Law, referring to one of two recently-released search warrant applications.

"Whose bodily fluids are they looking for? Is she a suspect? I don't understand why they're looking for controlled substances inside her home. I don't understand why they're looking for writings inside her home. The warrant does not explain that to me".

"When I read that search warrant, I really cannot find probable cause to search her home," he continued.

IMO MPD is trying to CYOA. Going after the victim. Who would of thought. Couple of things here: (1) Warrant shows Cartridges (plural) found outside passenger side of car. This probably indicates multiple shots fired. (2) MPD got search warrant for Justin Damond residence but I fail to see just cause. Looking for what? IMO they are trying to find out for the cop. Glad I do not live in this town. All of the above is Just My Opinion. Just saying.

I agree & the whole concept is just ridiculous IMO. And bodily fluids, really, WTF? Sounds like some kind of desperation to me.

Seems that ruling is centered around two residents at one home, one allowing police to enter and the other denying entry.

Also seems that an arrest would allow entry/search of a property.

Is it known where Justine is at this time? I thought with all this new information coming out this murder would start making sense but it just gets more confusing. RIP Justine

Yes it is. So i wonder what would happen if there were only one resident in a home that refused them entry? They could arrest that person for refusing LE entry and then proceed?

No, haven't seen anything about where she is right now. I did read in an msm article there will be a Memorial service for her in August. Will see if i can find the article and post it.

i mentioned previously there is a note posted at her spiritual center indicating a memorial early in August...they are seeking a large venue since it is expected to be a very large crowd...she knew and touched so many people here in Minneapolis with her work and of course there is widespread sorrow even if you did not personally know her.
