I know that people question whether cops really have reason to fear the public when they are dispatched to calls.

Yesterday an officer in Indianapolis answered an urgent call about 4 teens trapped in a overturned car in an accident. As he approached the car, he was shot and killed by one of the occupants he was trying to save.

As long as we have these kinds of needless, unnecessary attacks on officers, there will be more 'mistaken' police shootings because of police erring on the side of caution.

No, not a scientific diagnosis by any means. But my grandfather went downhill fast after grandma passed away. You could see it in the way his home was in disarray. Happened fast.

I imagine most men of that age never cleaned a house or cooked a meal

By the same token, if a woman who called 911 got shot as she approached the car, public has a reason to fear the police.

A very good reminder of why we have gotten to this point. Just terrible. At this rate will we even have police in 10 years?

True. But we could compare stats. How many people who call 911 for help are killed or harmed, compared to how many cops are killed/injured when they are dispatched.

How does this justify Justine's murder?

I'm guessing this thread may be shut down soon if we keep it up. If so, that's too bad. I come here for info and to discuss with others.

Everyone is staying on topic and no personal attacks. I see no reason for the thread to be shut down.

Wouldnt that make him more inclined to talk?

No, the way I understand it is if he talks now during the initial investigation it can be use against him. Once an internal investigation starts it can't. Does anyone know if an internal investigation has started yet?

"However, when the shooting becomes the subject of an internal police investigation, Noor will be compelled to provide statement or face the sack from the force"

I just saw this online "any statement he provides during the internal investigation cannot be used in a criminal case due to a legal technicality". This is likely why he's not talking. Seems like there are a lot of loopholes in police policy's

why in the world is anyone surprised that Noor is not talking...no attorney in the world would tell him to talk. he is not going to admit to anything. to expect differently does not make any sense.

Most police shootings we hear from LEO by now. A statement, an interview. Something

I'm as upset over this incident as anyone. I've convinced myself to just let it play out and see wether Noor is criminally charged. I can't control that outcome, but also realize the civil repercussions are going to be astronomical. The city and MPD realize this and MAY be running damage control. Hopefully Noor's physic is examined before ANY department allows him on the force. That is my hope. Most of this is above my pay grade professionally, although I have strong feelings as to his opinions and judgement. Just my opinion. You'll have a great day!

i think he will be fired for a start. The MPD is being extremely careful on this one...the Castile acquittal is very fresh and they can't have this happen again.

Do you think he will ever want to be LE? A read somewhere the statistics of how many LE stay on after they have shot someone. Hardly any.

my opinion he is not coming back to the MPD...if he defends his actions as we think he will he is simply not suited to be on the force...in fact...he may move again.

I don't think he is worried one bit about being fired. That's the least of his worries right now. He knows there is no way he is putting his MPD uniform back on.
