That's what Harrity says. We don't know when the cop who shot her first saw her. Somebody claims she slapped the back of the car so presumably somebody saw her do it?

Sadly when he first saw her is when he shot her. She didn't have a chance.

Exactly, i don't know who he thought she was to make such a dumb move?

I also think it is very unusual that a female was shot by LE in this case, most of the police shootings we hear about are males.

You know what I don't understand is why he wouldn't have thought she could have been the one the 911 call was about. The one who Justine believed needed help. RIP Justine

Maybe because rape victims normally don't go after a police vehicle if they even get away with their life that is, because plenty are murdered after bring raped.

Yes sadly this is true, BUT maybe he should have thought this time this one was able to get away. I don't know, I guess I'm just throwing out some "what if's"

i so agree...that would be the most logical conclusion absent any conversation.

Do they know who called ? What does the dispatcher say?

yes they know who called at least the address came across on the 911 audio...but I have not heard anything between the 2 cops...and given the time line of their arrival 12 minutes after her original call (there were 2) they could not have spent much time going "slow" down the alley as it was quite quick we heard "one down" and then "no suspects at large"...how did they know that?

Did they think she was a suspect? Seems that way.

not a big deal but wondering if any of you in Australia know of reports that her body was returned home as planned. Her facebook page did say current city Minneapolis and I see it is now Sydney.

I thought Justine's funeral was to be in the States on the 11th. of August, and from there her ashes will be taken back to Australia by her family, is what i read recently.

so he shot her thinking she was the victim of the rape?

I doubt he was thinking at all and just totally reactive, IMO.

it is a memorial service and I honestly don't know if her family is coming here...somehow I feel they may not...but you can have that service without the ashes. I think it would be normal for any family in their position to frankly not want to come here but maybe that is just me.They had a memorial service for her soon after the death on the beach watching the sunrise in Sydney.

so he shot her thinking she was the victim of the rape?

What would the dispatch say to the officers? Is there a recording of it that you have heard? If the dispatch said the address, was her name stated or that a woman called in? What was said to the officers? Possible rape?

Why would they say there are no suspects?

It makes no sense.

It is probable that the officer meant no shooting suspects at large since it was known who the shooter was.

In the article & link i just posted it says and BBM, i wonder if Noor from the passengers side of the vehicle thought the phone Justine was holding in her hand was a weapon?
(quote)
Harrity told investigators on Tuesday he heard a loud sound that startled him just before Damond, dressed in her pyjamas and holding a mobile phone, came to his driver’s side car window.

He said Noor, from the passenger front seat, shot across him and through the open window, fatally hitting Damond in the stomach.
