Reading the article that the head of the homicide unit testified of arriving upon baffling crime. I came away from reading that article with the interpretation that the detectives were not aware that Noor had shot this woman- the article says that Adkins was clueless as to how she was shot or who shot her: you mean to tell me Noor and his partner did not immediately say that Noor had shot her? I am stunned.

Why should the detectives be clueless about how and who shot this poor woman-shouldn't Noor have said something like, hey I didn't mean it, or i shot her but i didn't mean it: or his partner should have said something,.

To me it is outrageous that the detectives who arrived on the scene had no idea how this shooting occurred or who shot this woman. If I was on the jury that would not bode well for the defendant.

This is one of the saddest cases ever--this lovely woman calls the police
to try and help someone that she believes is in distress and gets shot dead
a few feet from her home by a police officer-- she had no shoes on her feet, and she was in her pajammas-- it is beyond heartbreaking--

Jurors on Wednesday heard 911 audio and saw video and photos of the crime scene in the murder trial of former Minneapolis police officer Mohamed Noor, who is charged with killing Damond on July 15, 2017, after responding to her call about a possible rape behind her home. Evidence was introduced as disputes between the defense and prosecution continued to mar the proceedings...."

Noor trial: Fellow officers told Noor to keep quiet, contacted union officials

" Minneapolis police officers tasked with watching two colleagues involved in the fatal shooting of Justine Damond offered them unsolicited advice to keep quiet, contacted union officials on their behalf, and turned a squad camera off before
the shooter was seated inside the vehicle, according to evidence presented in court Thursday."

The situation reeks of an attempted cover up-- it is sickening and disgusting and worse, noone cared about a woman that was dying on the ground, a woman that had been shot dead by one of their own. The officers, including the defendant were more concerned about their own butts than the horrible thing that had occurred.

From my perspective the entire police department reeks with respect to this shooting.

I didn't really get to see or hear the defense opening. I don't see what the defense strategy is going to be. I know they are relying on this theory of they were afraid of an ambush, but how they going to set that up? Officer Garrity going to testify to that? Or Noor himself? If the defense is that Noor feared for his life, then the jury is going want to hear that from his own lips. The testimony from the investigators that arrived that Noor and Garrity never told them that it was Noor that shot her is really compelling. If that reporting is correct, I would think the DA will refer to that in closing as clear evidence the Noor knew full well the shooting wasn't justified.

'Keep your mouth shut': officer's advice to Justine Ruszczyk Damond's killer

Minneapolis: A police officer who told Mohamed Noor, the officer who killed Australian Justine Ruszczyk Damond, to keep his "mouth shut" after the shooting said that he was simply offering friendly advice to a colleague.

Noor, 33, has been charged with two counts of murder and one count of manslaughter. If convicted he would be the first police officer in Minnesota's history to go to jail for killing a civilian.

Ruszczyk was on the ground as paramedics tried to revive her while Noor was sitting in another patrol car and Aikins said he had no idea what had happened.

Aikins helped to hold gauze to the wound of Ruszczyk who had been shot at point blank range in the lower abdomen only minutes before.

Aikins told the court he didn’t know how Ms Ruszczyk was shot or even if he was supposed to be looking for a weapon. No-one told him that a fellow policeman, Noor, had fired the fatal shot.

When asked by another responder what had happened, Aikin replied: “I have no f**king idea but she’s gone.”

In the video jurors could hear paramedics pleading with the Australian to cling to life.

“Stay with us,” they urge. “Take a breath”.

One paramedic says: “Traumatic arrest. Unless a surgeon is out here immediately, we don’t get these people back. We have to call it (her death).” That same paramedic looked to the side and said: “Sucks.”

Zimmerman also said that one of the officers at the scene — not Noor or Harrity — said: “The officer must have been startled by something”.

“They were surmising that something might have hit the squad car,” Zimmerman said.

His testimony is important because Harrity made no mention of anything hitting the police car in his initial statements and did not claim that the car was hit until three days later.

I have a feeling Noor will be acquitted- I base this on so many prior cases where police officers have been acquitted --I think people are very reluctant to find the police guilty in these types of situations.
The defense is definitely pushing that the officers were aware of potential ambush situations and they thought this was one of those.

There’s so many alternatives those cops could have done that night including drive on to a safe location to access the situation.
To shoot an unarmed innocent woman is absolutely atrocious.
I hope he isn’t acquitted because from what I’ve read he appears too much of a cowboy/loose cannon. IMO he should never again be a cop and his gun license should be revoked.

I agree and it makes me sick and angry. As a gun owner one of the first things I learned was to know what you're shooting at and what is behind that object/person.

This is truly frightening that barefooted unarmed woman in her pjs could frighten two big armed cops sitting in a vehicle. . It wasn’t a gang running toward them nor was she loud, drunk and disorderly. Was she using her cell as a torch to gain their attention that frightened them? Crikey I just can’t find any reason for this disgraceful event.

I think the reason for this is Noor would be a target in jail and his life will be at risk.
