I was not aware there was more than one shot-- makes it that much worse for the now convicted defendant. Talk about over-reaction!!!

You know what still gets me? how they got a warrant to search Justine's apartment- like she was a perp--- why didn't they get a warrant to search Noor's home?

WTH?! They did the EXACT same thing with Botham Jean, the man shot in his own apartment by former police officer Amber Guyger! As if searching for some legal justification for the shooting, after the fact!

Can't imagine why the juror formed his "probably" opinion.
Even a police officer at the scene said the 'slap' was only speculation.


One police investigator, Christopher Olson, told the court he was initially briefed at the site shortly after the shooting and said no one mentioned a noise on the squad car to him at that time. A policewoman at the scene, Shannon Barnett, said she had mentioned a possible “slap” to others at the scene but admitted it was only speculation about what might have spooked Noor and Harrity.

Sweasy called the claim about the noise “a theory that took on a life of its own”.

The juror obviously believed the testimony of Officer Harrity. Two officers would not have simultaneously reached for their weapons unless something scared them into reacting.

Defense attorneys for Noor have said he also heard a loud bang on the squad car, but prosecutors have suggested the slap was concocted. They insist the officers faced no threat.

We don't know exactly why that warrant was obtained. But I do think it was likely related to Sgt Barrnett's statement that she was probably drunk or on drugs. A totally unsubstantiated statement. BCA may have obtained the warrant to follow up on that. I still believe Barrnett should be investigated for obstruction.

I think Barnett's speculation was based on a neighbor's three 911 calls about a possibly demented woman in the neighborhood earlier that night. Women normally don't wander the streets alone at night in their p.j.'s.

The juror who spoke on local radio said he believed Ms Damond "did make contact with the car".
"But we didn't really feel that was super-relevant," he said.
"Yeah, officers get startled all the time, and she poses no threat.

"I think throughout the trial we kind of had the feeling there was something we weren't being told," the juror continued.

I am learning so much about this case right here on WebSleuth...I am telling you the information suppression is something on this case. I can just imagine what people in Australia are thinking about this country and Minneapolis in particular. I sort of think had Don and Justine married as planned eventually they may have lived in Australia after some time. No utopias out there but this gun violence is really getting to many of us.

I've heard it described as "the safest neighborhood" in Minneapolis. So, there's that. Probably hasn't been a "police ambush" there in a hundred years.

It is a relatively safe neighborhood...it is still not the "suburbs" which was mentioned in some reports...it is in Minneapolis proper...absolutely no threats of ambush in that area...as the video said above ..."two rookie cops" on a routine call and one of them simply should not have been a cop.

The information withholding is quite disturbing, considering the US is a country with free speech, many rights, and much public access to information.


They say officers and union officials held a meeting to discuss withholding information from the criminal investigation into the July 2017 fatal police shooting.
The meeting took place in the cafeteria of the Hennepin County Government Center prior to the refusal of about 20 police officers to talk to investigators ....

Wow, this is worse than I thought. Barnette should be investigated for her lack of professionalism, and implicit bias. How does she "Not Know" and "Can't Recall"? Her deliberate obtuseness was probably another reason the jury chose to convict.

With all due respect, Officer Harrity is still on the MPLS police force and I have no reason whatsoever to believe he lied in his testimony.

The juror was entitled to give his opinion that there was a slap on the police car. He was not entitled to speak on behalf of the rest of the jury. Juries are not allowed to deliberate or speculate about "what else we weren't being told."

Why wasn’t the dash camera on? Maybe that’s not a crime but I’d think those cameras are there for a reason.

No body or dash cameras.
As Justine’s dad said they were rookies.
