A Searles MN man reportedly told authorities he gave his ailing wife, Debra Lynn Johnson, 69, methamphetamine and they had a sex-filled, metal-themed “death party” before she died.

The husband, Duane Arden Johnson, 58, said he did not get his wife medical help because she did not want to die in a nursing home, instead choosing to succumb at their residence to the music of Quiet Riot.

Responding authorities reportedly found words - “Death Parde God Hell” - spray-painted in red on the front door, a naked Duane Johnson, several guns, and hundreds of rounds of ammunition.

Mr. Johnson was arrested without incident and was charged with felony counts of theft and receiving stolen property.

More from the Mankato Free Press link:

The deputy found Mr. Johnson in a bathtub and he said he was trying to cleanse little white and black “things” from his skin.

The couple had been “rocking out” to their favorite song: Quiet Riot's “Metal Health.”

The man said his wife couldn't eat or drink so he said he used snow to wet her mouth.

She also reportedly had mental illnesses and was on anti-psychotic medication.

After she died, he said he washed her and wrapped her in linen “like the Bible told me to do.”

Doesn't sound like she was in any condition to consent.
People with mental illness and on anti-psychotic medication most certainly can consent, as well as hold jobs, be productive members of society, etc. I am not saying this woman in particular was able to consent, but to generalize to all people with mental illness is offensive (and ignorant). MOO.

If I had to have a death party with this dude, I might prefer The Home.

Yeah I think I would have chosen Dr. Kervokian over this dude.

Wait....Dr. Kervokian is already dead. Shucks. Maybe one of those countries that allow assisted suicide where I get to administer my own lethal sleep for good medicine.

Better yet. Just give me a good Hospice Care center that dont mind keeping me pain free till I die on my own. :)

From the article:
Investigators learned from the New Ulm Medical Center that Debra Johnson had been at a transitional care center but her husband removed her against medical advice. She previously had two heart attacks, had diabetes and high blood pressure. She also reportedly had mental illnesses and was on anti-psychotic medication.

This doesn't read like Ms. Johnson consented.

I thought the post was referring to her severe medical issues, not her mental illness.
