Found Deceased MN - Michelle Mae, 35, Outing, 2 Oct 2019 *arrest*

I’m in the twin cities where it’s cold, woke up to see it snowing outside and immediately thought of Michelle and worried even more since Outing is further north. It’s been extremely rainy for daaays up until this point, I’m not thinking she would be alive in the wilderness without some really well prepared gear... hopefully she ditched her car and ran off with someone..

Not much information on her current life circumstances? Last seen, SO or boyfriend? A post on her page back in August says she is contracted to do work at four Dollar General stores, a few others talk about working at a bar. Looks like she has kids that need thier Mama back. Hopefully more information is made available.

There was another MP case in Cass County that I followed, but the name is escaping me at the moment. Anyone else remember, it was pretty high profile IIRC?

On her FB page (previously linked by PommyMommy), this is all that Michelle said her job was:

Her FB page: https://www.facebook.com/michelle.mae.7547
The August post (the only post in August) that @Knox referred to: Michelle Mae

"I have four Dollar General stores that I do the resets on for a company called Driveline but I really do miss everybody"

Michelle made no mention of any other job.

It was described as a rural area which, of course, doesn't necessarily mean "woods," but it's possible.

Standard procedure would warrant a search of the area where the vehicle was found and we haven't heard about that either.

Someone needs to wake up the media in MN! MOO
With a history of drug use/charges, media won’t be interested. Just another junkie to them. Sigh.

Let me clear that up for you. On the CCSO FB post, a person who knows her made the comment about working at Grannys/Pickled Loon. I did not mean to imply Michelle stated it, thanks.

I live very close to Aitkin County, there are so many mine pits and stuff around here, I haven't heard of this case as of yet. I heard about this site on the "Crime Junkie" Podcast, figured i would check this site out and seeing this now, hits SUPER close to home, since I'm only about 20 minutes from Aitkin, does anyone know where I can read more about this case?

I've looked a bit further into this and remember seeing her photo on our Brainerd MN community page, I just wonder why we don't see things like this more on the news. I live in a very wooded area somewhat near Aitkin County, about 20-30 minutes tops, and I only am able to get one local news channel which this case has never been on the news as far as i know or have seen. I don't understand why people who are missing in the state you live in don't always hit the news, doesn't it seem like bringing the publics attention to these types of thing would be a good idea? Also listening to all the podcasts that i have started listening to makes it even worse by people who do bad things that cross state borders and then makes everything even more complicated. But why can't news/media outlets, even if its sending a simple facebook article or twitter or whatever article out that this person is missing and needs the public to help. I just don't understand why. It drives me up a wall.

Hi @Kayrbear89, welcome to Websleuths! So glad you’re here and hope you stick around.
I’m also from MN! Been to Aitkin county before.. and really worried about this woman. Maybe LE have been working this and investigating something behind the scenes... but I agree with you as far as missing persons (in general) never getting enough coverage.. and especially in an age where there is news coverage and updates online 24/7 it’s so sad missing people aren’t more of a priority.. I would be so happy for part of my taxes to pay for more officers dedicated specifically to missing and endangered folks..

Foul play is believed to be involved in the disappearance of an Outing woman.

Aitkin County Sheriff Dan Guida said Monday, Oct. 14, that authorities continue to search for 35-year-old Michelle Mae. Mae was reported missing after her family had no contact with her since Oct. 3.

Guida would not comment further on the case, including why the sheriff’s office believes foul play is involved in Mae’s disappearance, citing the ongoing investigation. However, Guida encouraged anyone with information on her whereabouts to contact the sheriff’s office at 218-927-2138 or dial 911.

Last week, the sheriff’s office urged area hunters to keep watch for the missing woman.

Mae is described as Caucasian with green eyes, dark-rimmed glasses and short, dark hair. She is 5 feet, 1 inch tall and has several tattoos on her forearms.

The sheriff’s office found Mae’s missing 2004 Jeep Liberty Oct. 4 in Aitkin County near Swatara, southwest of Hill City.

Outing is located about an hour north of Brainerd.
