MN - One dead after Minneapolis shooting involving immigration agents, US media report, January 24, 2026

  • #421
I think that one of the most disturbing parts of the videos is that, after he was shot several times, ICE agents start playing with the body - rifling through his pockets, shoving him around, looking like pick pockets.
What exactly were they doing?? We're they planting evidence? I can't come up with a reason why they did that....

One must ask, if Trump wasn't fully in support of ICE actions (and behind the orders), why didn't he change policy after the 1st murder? Instead he deployed MORE agents into MN. After the 2nd murder, he continues to blame the victims themselves and doesn't withdraw forces. Who then is ultimately responsible for both deaths? jmo

"In the aftermath Doar says he would recommend concealed carry permit holders in Minneapolis think carefully about the situations they take their gun into."

I totally agree with Doar.

You did not answer my question.

Shooting at already immobilized person because you saw a glimpse of gun in a melee including a number of your armed fellow officers is against procedures. Same with shooting at said person because someone yelled "Gun". So if that was what, as you suggested, the scenario, the agents displayed gross incompetence. How is Alex to blame for that?

As for thinking about the situations...The agents were unaware Alex had a gun till they searched him. They shot him after they immobilized him, pepper sprayed him, beat him AND took his gun away. Clearly the problem is not in Alex carrying a (holstered) gun. The problem is in a gross abuse of power by the federal agents

MOO.

Why did the agents jump Alex in the first place?

They shoved the women and then tackled Alex. Why?

The agents had to walk down the street to attack the people filming them? The agents went out of their way to do that. Why?

ICE was also punching car windows out, according to a witness.

This this this. Sums it up exactly. None of those agents had any idea he had a gun on him until he was already pinned to the ground (and unable to even reach for his gun - he never made any attempt or motion to grab it in any videos I’ve seen) Nothing about that situation was ever Alex’s fault and he broke zero laws. In fact, I’d say he was actually a hero for coming to the 2 women’s rescue who had been pushed over by ICE. And it led to him being murdered in broad daylight by federal agents who grossly overused their power. All MOO.

“You just killed someone,” an older man in a grey hat shouted. “How can you just stand there? You’re not here to protect us. You’re killing us.”
[snip]
Every day masked ICE agents, often armed with pistols or assault rifles and dressed in civilian clothing, are grabbing people from the street — outside schools, from cars and bus stops — and bundling them into unmarked cars. US citizens, including Native Americans who say they’ve been mistaken for Latinos, have been picked up by ICE. A police chief of the Minneapolis suburb, Brooklyn Park, said that off-duty police officers had been targeted. None of them were white.
[snip]
Yet many voters, including Republicans, flinch at the tactics the administration is using to round up immigrants for deportation. A New York Times/Siena poll this month showed that 61 per cent of respondents believed ICE tactics had “gone too far”.

An accidental shooting from possible miscommunication doesn't happen 10 times in a row while observing a man on the ground.

That's beyond a "mistake." And it's insulting to suggest it was.

Spit the bait out.

Unfortunately I dont think this will matter at all, there was plenty of time for those involved to have already destroyed evidence, and as we have seen for ourselves more then once this month, they dont follow rules if any kind, and especially not actual LE protocols, so I very much doubt there was any proper processing and securing of evidence happening at all.
More likely someone scooped up anything incriminating (apparently that included actual witnesses!) and walked away.
No documenting, no anything even slightly resembling correct procedure 🙁
MOO!
True, but it needs to be on record that the State is attempting to work according to procedures and law and the Feds have willifully and knowingly obstructed. It all needs to be recorded in black and white, through proper channels.

Documentation matters. imo

As of early January, 2000 ICE agents have been sent to Minnesota. (It might higher now as I think they sent MORE after they killed Renee Good).

Two U.S. citizens and residents of the state have been killed by agents.

The feds could declare victory and leave.

BBM:

Massachusetts Attorney General Andrea Joy Campbell today joined a coalition of 20 attorneys general in filing an amicus brief in support of Minnesota’s lawsuit challenging the Trump Administration’s illegal and inhumane enforcement tactics during its deployment of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and U.S. Border Patrol to the Twin Cities area of Minneapolis and Saint Paul.

Hundreds of Tucsonans braved the rain Saturday to protest against ICE, marching from Freedom Park to CBP headquarters following the deadly shooting of Alex Pretti by federal agents in Minnesota.

“You know, after I saw what happened today up in Minneapolis, I feel like I couldn’t stay home,” said protestor Lisa Steinmeyer.

Killing two innocent US citizens could never be declared a "victory", unless by a demented madman/madwoman. jmo

If you watch independent journalists who have been out there in freezing temps since the protests began a month ago, you'll see the REAL America. They interview participants who represent us. We are smart, brave, compassionate, empathetic, strong, just. We know the constitution and we know the law. We have a moral compass. We look out for our neighbors. The current federal government is an abomination, and does not represent the majority.

We MUST keep trying to show and listen to the REAL America.....
We ARE here, and we are so sick of all this.

Is this what THEY want? A Civil War....

Respond with peaceful protests, non-violent resistance, loud voices.....but not war.
