U.S. Border Patrol commander Gregory Bovino and some of his agents are expected to soon leave the Minneapolis area, two sources familiar with the move told CBS News Monday.

Administration officials were left deeply frustrated this weekend over how Bovino and Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem handled the fallout from the fatal shooting of Alex Pretti in Minneapolis, sources said. According to one official, Trump spent several hours on Sunday and Monday watching the coverage and was personally unhappy by how his administration was coming across.

Others say that Bovino, who became the face of Trump’s immigration enforcement operation in Minnesota, only made matters worse by claiming Pretti intended to “massacre” federal agents. He sat for an interview with CNN and held a press conference with reporters Sunday, but neither appearance tamped down criticism of the administration’s response and contradictions, officials told CNN.

Senior officials began discussing taking Bovino out of Minnesota Sunday afternoon, according to one senior official.

This is what I have.

It has two 14TB Seagate Iron Wolf drives in it. Every picture or video I take (or that gets sent to me) on my phone goes directly to it. I have an automatic cloud backup of the whole drive set up.

ICE agents were said to have been pursuing a target before they shot Alex Pretti multiple times but the target escaped into a donut shop. IMO, the agents were mad and didn't maintain self-control after their failure to nab someone, and they took it out frustration on the public watching them. My opinion



If ICE shows up without a warrant, businesses can ask agents to leave — or potentially refuse service based on their own company policy, perhaps citing safety concerns or other disruptions caused by agents' presence. But there's no guarantee immigration officials will comply, especially in public spaces....

Certainly says something when the President himself is scrambling and embarrassed by how badly his officials have botched this incident.

The “spin” that was initially attempted regarding the incident has been a total failure. No one is buying that Alex’s death was justified.

I hope this is a moment of reckoning with the agents that killed Alex being charged, and ICE being held to much stricter standards of conduct. Violence and brutality is NOT necessary.

No. This is an inpatient ICU. Mr. Pretti was dead in the street. Also, this is likely during COVID as everyone is masked AND there are isolation carts lining the hallway. Which is why Websleuths is so sticky about verified sources.

That's exactly what happened: Noem obvious lies about the Alex Pretti shooting made her boss look bad. That is never a good idea.
