MN - One dead after Minneapolis shooting involving immigration agents, US media report, January 24, 2026

From your article -

On Tuesday, DHS announced it was launching an investigation into a US citizen “who attempted to purchase a firearm on two separate occasions,” allegedly stated she wanted to “protect herself from ICE Agents, and also to kill ICE Agents.”

Wow, that is pretty scary, I hope they find her. Some of these people on social media are unhinged, to say the least. And they show up at protests, too, along with the "peaceful" protesters.
Well, that is obviously not acceptable at all. Saying she wants to "protect" herself from ICE agents, though - that seems to fall within her 2nd Amendment rights, to me? Self defence is lawful and isn't restricted on the basis of who your attacker may be, surely?

I'm no expert and not a US citizen but I think I've heard of protecting the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic, or somesuch?

Snopes was wrong multiple times in the past.

MOO 🐄
Fair enough. I also linked to MBFC. If anyone can link a source proving different - I’d like to see it. moo

Here’s another fact check source -

5. Assessment and what remains unproven
Based on the supplied reporting, the claim that the phrase functions as a shorthand for Nazi-style collective reprisal is widely circulated and used rhetorically, and commentators tie it to Lidice and other Nazi reprisals—yet the sources provided do not include archival proof that the exact English wording “One of ours, all of yours” was an official Nazi slogan in 1942; the evidence in these excerpts is inferential and rhetorical rather than documentary. To move from plausible association to verified etymology would require primary-source confirmation—wartime orders, propaganda texts, or credible historian citations—not present in the materials supplied here, and that absence should temper absolutist claims even as the phrase’s invocation remains politically and morally potent.

When the Border Patrol agent attempted to remove the mask Baierl was wearing, Baierl allegedly forcibly bit the middle finger on the agent’s right hand, the affidavit states.

Why was the border agent removing this woman’s mask? It is not illegal to wear a mask, as the border patrol all wear them.

that’s your opinion and you are free to think that. I think that the safest thing for Minnesotans would be to not have 3000 (poorly trained) Federal agents invade and occupy their city. IMO.
We wouldn't need that many federal immigration enforcement officers if the state and local leaders would do their part and allow their LE to provide the establishment of perimeters and boundaries between federal agents' operations and protester gatherings.

ICE is there trying to do their jobs and mobs keep interfering. If people just videoed from the sidewalk etc there wouldn't be a problem.
What job are they doing? Because so far all I can see is them being overly aggressive, causing chaos by being so unorganised, assaulting people and oh yeah, murdering US citizens. Jmo.

But in this case, they did know who ICE was targeting. He went into the donut shop and the owner locked the door and ICE was unable to come in. At that point, ICE should have left the scene and gone to get a judicial warrant or whatever they may have needed to apprehend their target. That’s literally their ONLY job. They didn’t do that. They pushed over 2 women and then shot a man in the back.
The targets of federal immigration enforcement that day are not known to the public, except the one target who it is reported (not by federal law enforcement) hid out in a local business building. There may have been other targets in the area, we don't know. Speculating about what federal immigration enforcements should or should not have done after they weren't immediately able to apprehend that target is just that, speculation. Maybe they were waiting for a warrant to arrive. Maybe they were rethinking their operations as they waited, etc. It is pure speculation that they should have left that area.

It's pretty sad to realize that people believe that the protesters are all paid agitators. That we have fallen so far as a humane society that it's inconceivable to some that ordinary good brave people are willing to fight for human rights that previous generations fought and sacrificed for in the pursuit of a better society.
As a real flesh and blood protestor, I can assure you we are not being paid. We are taking time out of our day and away from our family to stand up for the rights of all, including those who wish us harm.

Mobs??
These are your fellow American citizens demonstrating, protecting others and witnessing facism that is terrifying to most of the planet of humanity

Protecting criminal and other illegal immigrants? How is that their job?

Please take anything coming from DHS with a massive grain of salt. They are building a narrative that suits their agenda, which is often very far from the truth. IMO

Stating that they absolutely should not have been pushing bystanders who were doing nothing unlawful to the ground and then beating up someone who offered that person aid and assistance before executing them in the street is NOT speculating about what they should or should not have done!

It’s still no where in their job description to physically push protesters, tackle them or shoot them. Their training manuals all say to de-escalate situations and not to use deadly force and they definitely did not do that.

And the reality is immigration is a civil matter, not criminal. But for the sake of argument let's look at some stats Fact Check Team: Do illegal migrants commit more crime than American citizens?:

CATO Institute: Immigrants Are Incarcerated at Lower Rates Than U.S.-Born Citizens

To understand broader crime trends, the CATO Institute analyzed more than a decade of data from the U.S. Census and the American Community Survey.

Their 2023 incarceration rate findings:
  • Native-born Americans: 1,221 per 100,000
  • Illegal immigrants: 613 per 100,000
  • Legal immigrants: 319 per 100,000
Federal immigration enforcement officers are taking illegal immigrants into custody. They have already broken the law. These statistics are not relevant.

What's weird is for her to use this phrase at all, since ICE is the one who has killed two US citizens, no protesters have done anything to ICE except chant "ICE out!" and carry signs.

BBM
Except when they aren't.

ETA since I forgot to cut/paste.

“If the officers learn that the individual they stopped is a U.S. citizen or otherwise lawfully in the United States,” Kavanaugh wrote, “they promptly let the individual go.”

But that is far from the reality many citizens have experienced. Americans have been dragged, tackled, beaten, tased and shot by immigration agents. They’ve had their necks kneeled on. They’ve been held outside in the rain while in their underwear. At least three citizens were pregnant when agents detained them. One of those women had already had the door of her home blown off while Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem watched.

The notion that a killing (such as Alex Pretti and Renee Good, or DHS road violence like intentional collisions, window-breaking, etc) is recorded for the purpose of internet fame or cosplay is nonsense.
These aren't 'trained agitator activists'. They are people who care about their neighbors. Maybe ICE/CBP should minimize apprehensions of innocent people?? Instead you suggest that they kidnap people in the dead of night. That is not how honest law enforcement operates. Honest law enforcement doesn't have anything to hide.
Agreed.

These apprehensions and killings that somehow happen to be recorded are the TIP OF THE ICEBERG in my opinion. IMO they are kidnapping people in the dead of night. Some torturing. Some killing. My opinion is that this is obvious based on mere logic.

IMHO the shooting of AP was very wrong and another tragedy. I view it differently than RG. I think the whole situation in MN is completely out of control obviously. I don’t like how the administration handled it afterwards and I don’t like how MN officials handled it. Initially ICE was there to do a job. MN failed to assist them with protesters etc. I don’t think ICE is trained in crowd control as LE are. Things have escalated with ICE and I am uncertain what mindset that puts them in. However Mr Pretti should never have been shot after his weapon was removed. Did a weapon discharge causing the panic and what happened, maybe, but it still should not have happened. AP had what appears to be another encounter with ICE that left him injured. Is that why he was armed that day? Maybe. Why did he have extra magazines for his gun (if he did)? I still assert he should not have been shot unless we are shown proof otherwise. This is not like the holocaust though and I find the comparison offensive. Let’s get ICE out of MN for now and hopefully reassess the whole situation.

I read it and I think you could replace the work 'Jewish' with 'brown' and here we are.
I reject the idea that enforcing border laws is comparable to the systematic genocide of over 6,000,000 Jews.

Protecting criminal and other illegal immigrants? How is that their job?
Job? No one mentioned a “job”

Humans care and attempt to protect their fellow citizen’s, neighbors and employees throughout history, this is what we are witnessing, not a job a humanitarian duty

Our collective taxes are being spent outrageously on this assault on communities who don’t need or welcome these untrained hopped up aggressors

Another woman is facing charges after allegedly biting the finger of a federal immigration enforcement agent on Saturday in Minneapolis...

When the Border Patrol agent attempted to remove the mask Baierl was wearing, Baierl allegedly forcibly bit the middle finger on the agent’s right hand, the affidavit states.

The Border Patrol agent was wearing gloves at the time of the incident, but Baierl’s bite was still allegedly able to cause physical injury, the affidavit states.

Baierl was released from custody by a judge on her own recognizance. A preliminary hearing in the matter has yet to be set.

I’d have done worse if some dude attempted such!
