I have a special soft spot for those with dementia and dementia related illnesses/conditions. I also have a soft spot for the elderly, as I’ve gravitated toward them since I was a child. I wonder how Shoua ended up in the creek. It would be nice to know where her home was located in relation to the creek where she was found. Bless her heart. I’m sure her family are heartbroken. I wish we had something that would cure dementia. I admire “Grandma’s” tenacity in holding on to her independence despite her illness. I’m so sad that she didn’t make it to her destination. We will likely never know exactly how her mind led her to the creek. This is heartbreaking. I feel so heartbroken for her family and friends.:(

The creek is about 1/2 way between her home and the Asian Market.
Click on "Show route preview" and select "Walking" then hover over the Asian Market to see the route. Or...just look north of Action Auto Parts on Arlington Ave E to see the creek. MOO

So sad to see this. And just yesterday another case here - Tom Hastings in TN (had dementia) - was found in a creek (deceased).

RIP Grandma.
