GUILTY MN - Susan Spiller, 68, activist, killed in home invasion, Minneapolis, 16 July 2015 *14 yo charged*

  • #21
I saw that photo too colette. The signs are kind of common around this area although I wouldn't have one as I think it would be more likely to provoke vandalism/burglary or worse.

I don't know where that information about her making zero calls comes from unless MinnesotaMary used a Data Practices Act inquiry to get it. I never read it in any news article regarding this crime.

Any 911 calls can be made anonymously, I've done it many times.

Life can be real cheap in Minneapolis. While most of the people in this city are decent, hard-working people there is a large gang presence that is ingrained here. I also believe it could have been a mentally ill person.

Regardless I am worried that this is not getting any attention at all. Not one peep since the days just after the crime. I have contacted one reporter who agreed the story should be revisited but haven't seen anything from them.

Since there is no news at all in Susan's murder case, I just started looking things up. When I look up "complex homicidal violence" I found two cases.

Chrissie Bates was killed in Minneapolis, MN in January 2011:

http://sdgln.com/news/2011/01/15/mi...mplex-homicidal-violence#sthash.YZHPoE5t.dpbs

Chrissy/Krissy was killed by a short-term "intimate partner".

I found another case that used the term complex homicidal violence and that is Theresa Still, in Altoona, Wisconsin.

http://www.wqow.com/story/11758148/...sing-altoona-woman-complex-homicidal-violence

Theresa's boyfriend, Greg Gubernot, was in jail awaiting trial for her murder when he committed suicide:

So the theory I've been playing around in my head is: did someone close to (or wanting to be close to), or someone Susan had a short relationship with, use the fact that she spoke out at that neighborhood board meeting saying she was afraid of retaliation, kill her? Have we been thrown off by the "feared retaliation" statement?

Is it the most simple explanation? Someone that either had been with her or attempted to be with her and got rejected kill her?
OR
Could the "complex homicidal violence" been for crime scene staging to throw investigators off the track of the killer/s?

Well that is two different theories. Each day I flip/flop back and forth that MPD knows exactly who did it and are just gathering their evidence and building their case OR MPD has absolutely no idea who did it and Susan will never receive justice.

Who killed Susan Spiller?

From the comments of locals on some of the press about the case, the neighborhood is not the greatest. I think it is some **** who lived near her, not someone involved with her. Just my guess.

I read all the articles again. I found information I either didn't remember (unlikely) or the articles (StarTribune) have been updated. I have a POI. If I have one, I have to believe MPD have one too.

You are correct colette in it being someone who lived near her.

I think the comments are a red herring, I don't think it was any gang affiliate or **** retaliation ("snitches get stitches"). I think it was way more personal.

Just My Humble Opinion.

Could you at least share the scenario? Dying to know what you thinking!

Someone inserts themselves into the investigation in this article.

ALL articles seem to have been updated since I last read them. I feel MPD know what happened but perhaps cannot prove it. This is extremely concerning.

I don't think SS was an "activist" but just a regular person living a regular life. Almost everyone here is trying to make things better. It is what people do! This is a nice place to live.

I suppose it is possible someone just popped off.

From the article:

Another nearby resident said that a recent altercation with a troubled neighbor had left Spiller shaken and fearful. The neighbor declined to provide her name for fear of retaliation.

Does anyone know if her son is a nice guy with good character? He found her...just wondering if he and she were close...wonder if she was worth a lot of $$$$$

I have no idea. She did watch his son. I'm pretty sure that is why he went there because every Thursday (at least in an article a friend of hers said) she would have her grandson.

They (the remaining family) did a very small 🤬🤬🤬 account to help with burial costs and make a small scholarship for an art student.

Everything has been SO quiet about this case.

Lived in all of those places as has much of my extended family. Some areas can be rough. But many are not. I happened to enjoyed my time living in that region.

Mpls. artist murder still a mystery, estate sale set

http://www.kare11.com/story/news/2015/12/16/estate-sale-for-murdered-minneapolis-artist/77448206/

"This case remains very active. We are moving forward with some solid pieces of evidence but are still asking for the public's help in solving this crime," said Minneapolis Police spokesperson John Elder.

I've been following the Teresa Sievers case and wonder if MPD spokesperson is giving some type of clue with the "solid pieces of evidence"...I am probably reading too much into it. It makes me think of all her artwork being "solid pieces". I dunno, just so sad her killer/s have not been brought to justice.

I can't go today because I am working. I might go tomorrow but not sure with it being AT Susan's home. That feels real creepy to me. Maybe the police think someone connected to her murder will be there too.

I did go to this estate sale. It wasn't creepy, just unbearably sad. Susan had a beautiful home and was an extremely gifted and prolific artist. I can't imagine the loss her family and community feel. This is absolutely tragic.

Justice for Susan Spiller. Please.
